Editing List of regional version differences (SSB4)

This article lists differences between the [[NTSC]] and [[PAL]] versions of ''[[Super Smash Bros. 4]]''. As with ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' and unlike in ''[[Super Smash Bros.]]'' and ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'', these differences are largely aesthetic due to online play between regions.

There are two different English translations of the game, one for the NTSC version and one for the PAL version. These translations are much more distinct than in ''Brawl'', although they share a number of elements. Aside from name differences (as seen below), many [[trophy]] descriptions, [[Boxing Ring]] titles and other pieces of text are also different; articles on this wiki display both English translations if applicable. Similar differences apply to the French and Spanish languages, which also have two separate translations. Only {{for3ds}} is translated in Korean, as the Wii U was never officially released in South Korea.  

*In the NTSC English version, the "Go!", "Game!" and "Time!" texts have an exclamation mark, as they were in ''Melee'' and ''Brawl''. In the PAL version, the exclamation mark is absent.

==Voices==

*The Dutch, Portuguese, and Russian versions use the voice tracks from the PAL English version while the Korean version uses the voice tracks from the Japanese version.

*The {{SSB4|Wii Fit Trainer}}s are fully voiced in eight languages: Japanese, American English, British English, German, French, Italian, European Spanish, and Latin American Spanish. The American English and Latin American Spanish versions are only available in the NTSC version while the British English and European Spanish versions are only available in the PAL version.

*The crowd chants, {{SSB4|Lucario}}, and [[Shadow]] are fully dubbed in six languages: Japanese, English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish. While this is mostly the case for {{SSB4|Sonic}}, a few of his voice clips are shared across all the non-Japanese versions.

*The announcer is fully dubbed in four languages: German, French, Italian, and Spanish, but has shared voice clips in the English and Japanese versions. The French and Spanish versions have regionally different names and pronunciations (for example, {{SSB4|Bowser}}'s name in the NTSC French version is pronounced closer to its English pronunciation).

*{{SSB4|Jigglypuff}} and {{SSB4|Greninja}} are fully dubbed in four languages: Japanese, English, German, and French. The Italian and Spanish versions use their English voice tracks.

*While most of {{SSB4|Kirby}}'s voice clips in the English version are shared with the Japanese version, he has dubbed English clips for when he copies Palutena ([[Autoreticle]]), Robin ({{b|Thunder|Robin}}), and Shulk ([[Monado Arts]]).

*{{SSB4|Mewtwo}}'s Japanese dialogue can only be heard in the Japanese and Korean versions. Generic grunts play in their place in other versions.

*{{SSB4|Bayonetta}}'s English voice track is available in the Japanese and Korean versions if her Witch With No Memories costumes are used. This references how the original release of ''Bayonetta'' did not have Japanese voice acting.

*The chart below shows all the voiced [[Poké Ball]] Pokémon and if their voice clips are different from the Japanese version's. The Italian and Spanish versions use the English voice clips of all Pokémon listed.
