==Overview==
Kirby lunges forward and performs the Smash Kick. As with most forward smashes, Kirby's has noticeable ending lag and is unsafe on shield. However, since Kirby moves a fair distance forward while using it, his forward smash has good range with a relatively long duration and a slight disjoint. It has slightly above-average power and speed (frame 13) for a forward smash, making it a potent punish, especially as a kill confirm from a single hit of forward air.

The late hit is much weaker and launches at a somewhat unusual diagonally upward angle; incidentally, this makes the optimal DI for the clean hit one of the worst DIs for the late hit. If the opponent incorrectly DIs in, the late hit can still KO fairly early off the top blast zone.
