The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters.
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted.

The hammer comes from the arcade game ''{{b|Donkey Kong|game}}''. In ''Donkey Kong'', when Mario obtains the hammer, he is unable to stop swinging until the hammer disappears. He also is unable to jump or climb {{s|supermariowiki|ladder}}s while swinging the hammer. The hammer can be used to destroy {{s|mariowiki|barrels}} that are being rolled down towards Mario, and can be used against other enemies. Contrary to its depiction in the ''Super Smash Bros.'' series, the Hammer's head cannot fall off in the game, nor can it otherwise malfunction.

The hammer has since been absorbed into iconography of the {{uv|Mario}} universe, with Mario himself using hammers on several occasions. Notable instances of Mario using a hammer is the {{uv|Wrecking Crew}} series, ''Paper Mario'' series, ''Mario & Luigi'' series, several mini-games in the ''Mario Party'' series, and as an occasional item in the ''Mario Kart'' series.
