Groudon (グラードン, Groudon) is a creature in the Pokémon media franchise.

Origin
Groudon is a Ground-type bulbapedia and the bulbapedia of bulbapedia and, in its Primal form, of Bulbapedia. Groudon is categorized within the Pokédex at #383 as the "Continent Pokémon". It is the embodiment of landmasses, and its originally unique ability bulbapedia is able to summon strong sunlight on the battlefield.

bulbapedia is a special Fire-type move with 130 (140 before Generation VI) base power and 90% accuracy which lowers by two levels the user's Special Attack stat after each successful use. Groudon is able to learn it by TM or TR in every generation where it is available, usually by bulbapedia.
Groudon (グラードン, Gurādon) is a fictional creature in the Pokémon media franchise.

Creature description
Groudon is a legendary Pokémon that made its debut in the 3rd Generation games Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire for the Game Boy Advance. Groudon, a massive bipedal lizard-like titan composed of rocky matter, is the "cover mascot" of the Ruby Version and the opposing counterpart to the Sapphire Version's cover mascot Kyogre. Groudon embodies the landmasses and continents of the world, hence dryness and drought, just as Kyogre embodies the world's oceans. Groudon's special ability in the Pokémon game is Drought, a special ability that creates intense sunlight. Groudon's signature move is Eruption. Groudon is often associated with Team Magma.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the first Super Smash Bros. game to include Groudon, as Groudon didn't exist when the first two games were made. When summoned from a Poké Ball, the titanic Groudon appears and damages all opponents of the summoner that come into contact with it, even though it stands idly. Its size makes it hard to avoid when it first appears. He is about equal in size to Giga Bowser.
Groudon can be summoned by a Poké Ball: upon appearing it remains stationary, occasionally turning around, roaring, or moving its head or tail, and uses Overheat, covering itself with a fiery aura which damages all opponents which come in contact with it. Its size makes it hard to avoid when it first appears.

Groudon's effect is very similar to Moltres' one, except Groudon is much larger (approximately twice the size) and lasts longer. However, Groudon's attack is significantly weaker: while touching Moltres can sometimes result in a OHKO, touching Groudon does rather low damage (7% lower belly, 15% mouth, 10% everywhere else) with decent knockback, being incapable of KOing until high percentages (110% for mouth, 150% for body, and lower belly around 285%). While avoiding Groudon can be difficult, Groudon is arguably one of, if not the least effective legendary Pokémon in the game, due to its low damage output and difficulty to KO.

Glitch
If Groudon is summoned in an enclosed area that's smaller than Groudon (such as a custom stage with a 1×1 area surrounded by solid objects), it will get stuck, freeze, have no damage hitboxes, and will never despawn.

|desc=A Continent Pokémon. In ancient times, it brought about droughts to save people who had suffered from floods. It is normally found in the profound depths of the earth, where it slumbers in magma. With a mighty roar, it uses Earthquake to shake the ground and mow down enemies. In battle, it summons sunlight to bathe the area. It once had an epic battle with Kyogre.

Spirits
Groudon once again does not appear as a Poké Ball Pokémon. Groudon does appear as a spirit that can be enhanced once it hits level 99, which can be enhanced into Primal Groudon.
