Editing Forum:Smash DLC Thoughts

By reading the information [[Leak#Roy and Ryu data|here]], I noticed that it seems Smash 4 has enough data for (potentially) 2 characters and (potentially) 3 more stages. Personally, I'd like to see [[wikipedia:Professor Hershel Layton|a certain professor]] and [[Wolf|a veteran who frankly didn't deserve to be cut]], as well as a stage based on [http://layton.wikia.com/wiki/Monte_d%27Or the main area from ''Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask'']. However, I'm curious to see your guys's thoughts. :I wouldn't like to see new characters so much as I would like an alt. costumes. For characters and stages, I would like Wolf, Impa, and Samurai Goroh. As for stages, I would prefer Green Hill Zone and an 8-Bit version of Mushroomy Kingdom that goes through all of the original levels, with the terrain popping out of the background. My personal assumption based on "Character Pack 1" having 4 characters is that there will be a "Character Pack 2" of roughly the same size, implying 3-5 more characters total from this point. As for stages, I expect maybe a few more past stages plus a new one for any newcomers from a new series (as they did with Suzaku Castle). Of course, there's lots of [[User:Miles of SmashWiki#Stuff that might be cool in Smash|stuff that I think might be cool]], but it's easy to get greedy and I'm aiming to keep my expectations realistic. I mean, frankly, there are some characters who I think would definitely fit the Smash series, ranging from [[Isaac|characters who've only made one minor appearance in Smash]] to [[mariowiki:King K. Its sad to see that Samus and Zero Suit Samus are the only good candidates to be in a Smash Bros. game (sucks to be big, Ridley); but what I would like is some Donkey Kong Country characters as DLC such as King K. Rool and to an extent, Banjo and Kazooie. :Banjo and Kazooie would have been a shoo-in in 1999. These days, though, I doubt Nintendo wants to turn Smash into a Rare Replay advertisement. As for Metroid, I still think a Zebesian Space Pirate would be a good way to get another Metroid rep. Thinking about the wall-climbing and projectile shooting moves they show off, plus the mini-boss ones outside Ridley's room in Super Metroid, I can see moveset potential; they're also more reasonably humanoid-sized. In theory, it would also be a way they could bring in Ridley as a Final Smash. A Zebesian Space Pirate would be cool, but I doubt that would ever get in because it's a generic enemy in the Metroid universe. I personally would love to see Elma from Xenoblade Chronicles X. It'd be great to advertise for the game, and doesn't a character who switches between dual guns and blades sound cool? :Yeah. I mean they got Roy in prior to his game's release in Melee. Not sure if they're so lenient of things of that nature now. Inkling would be cool. They're really going all-out with this game though, I feel like the fate of future Smash games may be a bit in limbo due to Sakurai being hesitant in making another installment. But who knows? Wolf is the only character I want for DLC. I don't want anyone else. I have interest in having Sector Z as a DLC stage, but since it looks similar to Corneria, I doubt it'll make it in. I do NOT want Krystal or Snake as playable characters; although I'll be fine if Krystal is an assist trophy, but I don't think Sakurai will make DLC assist trophies. :Sector Z isn't exactly out of the realm of possibility. Corneria's only on the 3DS version, and I doubt there's some kind of rule in place stating that all DLC stages must be on both platforms. :::The [[Miiverse]] stage is a DLC stage exclusive to Wii U, although it was supposed to be on the disc but wasn't finished on time for the game's initial release. Size isn't a problem for stages appearing on both versions; I get that Sector Z is the largest stage in ''Smash 64'', but if you look at [[Gaur Plain]], it's a large stage on the Wii U, but was resized on the 3DS. :I kind of get the feeling that one-off Zelda characters aren't likely at this point, or else we would've seen Midna in Brawl or Ghirahim in SSB4. Lana is doubly improbable since she was created for and only appeared in a spinoff, and never in a main series title. I think some version of Impa done along the lines of Hyrule Warriors (as a composite of OoT/SS versions of her role) is the only plausible new Zelda rep. :::I actually like the idea of including Tingle, but I usually only include him as a clone of Balloon Fighter and have never been able to come up with an original moveset. I feel like Tetra or Impa would be the most likely, but really I'd prefer Yuga.
