Both are pretty fast, both ride airborne mechines in certian games, both are really happy in their own way, both are cocky in their own way (I'm not sure if Kirby being impulsive is cocky, I'm young, so correct me if I'm wrong), both of their favorite foods are healthy (I guess chili isn't healthy, but hot dogs are), and both have a rivalry with very serious people (Meta Knight for Kirby and Shadow the Hedgehog for Sonic).
