I recently put up a tier list on my userpage that I claimed would be as accurate as any list could be.  I decided to put 50% of the point system I used on tournament results.  When I showed my friends the completed list, and after i explained my reasoning, one of my friends made a very strong point.  He said that at any given tournament of about 32, around half of of those people will be using Snake, Meta Knight, or some other higher tier character.  After thinking about what he said for a day or so, I got an idea.  What if there was a tournament where a character could only be used by one person?  In other words, one Snake, one Falco, one of everybody placed in a random draw.  I just want opinions of what anybody thinks of this idea (and if something like this already exists, then I will be very embarrassed and will crawl into a large hole and stay there for a week).  Cheezperson (talk) 20:23, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, the idea isn't too bad, but you would need to rally up 37 people of equal skill, which is very unlikely. Heck, it's hard to rally up two people of equal skill, let alone 37. Everyone, even the pros, play differently from each other, so it's hard to determine if two or more people are equal, per se. I really just don't see why tournament placings are held in such high regard right now. Let's see Ken and Chu Dat enter a tourney and then we'll talk. Personally, I think it's better to just focus on a particular character's pros and cons and then compare all of them among the entire cast. It takes longer, but I believe it produces far more accurate results. Your friend's observation was quite keen though, if I may add. - GalaxiaD (talk) 22:07, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
I think thats a good idea but as GalaxiaD said, you would need to get one good player for each character, but thats still a very good observation! Nice Work! Cree318 (talk) 23:15, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
