Editing Forum:Improving Google Search results

Well right now, if you search "super smash bros wiki", [http://super-smash-bros.wikia.com this site] appears at the top of the search results, and the Main Page of our wiki only appears on the top of the third page. [http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/static.py?hl=en&page=checklist.cs&tab=1095542 This website], created by Google, provides good information on bumping your site up. One of the main points is the relevance of the URL. To bring SmashWiki higher on the search results, one way I think we could do it is by changing the Main Page's URL from <code>ssbwiki.com/Main_Page</code> to <code>ssbwiki.com/Super-Smash-Bros-Wiki</code>

::A random person looking for a wiki about Smash Bros would not search for "SmashWiki" unless they already knew what it was. If someone who did not know what SmashWiki was, and was looking for a wiki, they would probably search "super smash bros wiki". Also, just because everyone in NIWA does it doesn't mean we have to do it too. I don't see why we have to stick with all of the NIWA wikis, especially for something that is not radically changing anything. :If anything we could move the main page to <nowiki>[[SmashWiki]]</nowiki>, but that's currently an in-use redirect. <code>ssbwiki.com/Super-Smash-Bros-Wiki</code> is a bad idea because that's not what we're called and the Main Page should reflect that. 	You aren't logged in. While it's not a requirement to create an account, doing so makes it a lot easier to keep track of your edits and a lot harder to confuse you with someone else. If you edit without being logged in, your IP address will be recorded in the page's edit history.
