The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters.
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted.

Trying to implement Smash Bros. in a first-persion view is an interesting idea, but there are several issues with it. The primary one is that retaining the two-dimensional field of play makes controls confusing, as pushing the stick left or right has no effect from a first-person point of view, while keeping the "pushing left moves you towards the left side of the stage" controls (basically changing nothing but attaching the camera to the character's head) is also confusing in that both directions make you appear to move forwards, while the opposite direction makes you turn around. Doable if there's some sort of minimap (which is definitely not possible just by modding Brawl in the forseeable future), but has a learning curve steeper than many things.
 
If you instead were to attempt to make the playing field with three dimensions of freedom, it becomes far harder to retain the basic Smash Bros. mechanics. How do you do an up smash if pressing in any direction makes you walk in that direction? 3D movement also makes it a lot harder to actually hit things without a lock-on system or extremely large hitboxes. The last major obstacle is the mechanic in Smash Bros. that always makes you face the direction you're being hit from (so you're almost always facing the stage for your recovery); doing this in a first-person perspective results in disorientation, while not doing it results in you having to "manually" find the edge after you're sent flying.
 
So in general, while a Smash Bros.-inspired first person game would be interesting, trying to make it have the same gameplay will probably not work out. :Plus, lots of the stages wouldn't have 3D views - the ones "borrowed" directly from other games like Mario Circuit or Bridge of Eldin might, but there are plenty of stages where you have little or no freedom to move the camera around in pause mode (most obviously, Flat Zone 2 and Hannenbow, where the models are rendered as "flat" 2D sprites).

Hey guys, it's the original poster. I am NOT saying that I want to make this a 3 dimensional fighting game. You would only be able to move the same four directions: up, down, left, right. I am suggesting a MOD of the game. It's still SSBB. I realize that making it a 3 dimensional game would really change it, and that is not what I want. I am simply suggesting a mod where you see the game through your character's eyes. It seems like this thread has gotten off track from what I was suggesting. The game would still have the same 2D movement that it does now, it would just be viewed from a different angle.

I see what you mean, Anon. However, the characters <i>are</i> three-dimensional, and that helps. Also, have you considered what it looks like when you pause the game and make the camera point sideways? It doesn't look too bad.
