The Flame Chomp made its debut as a recurring enemy in ''{{s|mariowiki|Super Mario Bros. 3}}'', and has become a recurring enemy in later ''Mario'' games. They are flying metallic spheres with angry eyes, shark-tooth smiles, and are often trailed by four fireballs. They are uncommon enemies encountered in each of their game appearances, usually appearing in at least one level.
The Flame Chomp is an enemy introduced in ''Super Mario Bros. 3''. It behaves mostly like its ''Smash'' version: it floats in the sky and shoots fireballs at [[Mario]]. After shooting four fireballs it becomes faster and starts flashing, exploding after a short while.
