@Miles: The overlay is certainly helpful for showing that the player in the gif is trying to input their recovery and is not simply doing nothing. It not being there in the console is irrelevant. Omega Tyrant 00:47, 17 April 2013 (EDT)

:I'm calling it a helpless animation because I don't have a better word to call it. I think that it would be better demonstrating this with Sonic, because you can see that he is in his spinning animation, unlike with Snake, because his "helpless" animation is almost the same as his normal falling animation. I think it would be better to clearly show the character still in their helpless animation after being released. ::Look, we should just keep it the way it is already. Per OT, the need for changing this is now redundant, as either one with display both their 'helpless animation' the same, before the grab and right after. Preference with Sonic over Snake would lead to an endless discussion over who should it be. Next you you know, Pit or Mr. Game & Watch will be pulled into this. It's going to stream off it's original topic...-- Airconny 16:58, 17 April 2013 (EDT)
:The article is more than sufficient to explain that Snake (in this case) would be unable to activate his recovery again even if it were inputted. How does adding unnecessary, nigh-unreadable text make the situation any clearer? ::The text of the article can say whatever it wants, that has no bearing on the image. Image is supposed to demonstrate Snake is unable to use Cypher again, something that requires something showing inputs being made to demonstrate it. Otherwise, a skeptical reader cannot tell that the Snake in the image isn't just not making any inputs.
