The player controls a fighter of their choice and must win a 3 stock match against a CPU {{SSBM|Marth}} and a CPU {{SSBM|Roy}} on the [[Temple]] stage (with the ''Fire Emblem'' musical theme played as the [[alternate music]]). The CPU Marth and Roy's [[artificial intelligence]] is set at Level 5.

When the match starts, the player's fighter will spawn on the left side of the center of the stage, while Marth spawns on the right side of the stage and Roy spawns on the topmost platform.
