Super Mario 128 (スーパーマリオ128, Super Mario 128) is the 22nd event match of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

The player controls a fighter of their choice and must win a 1 stock match against a team of 128 CPU tiny Marios on the Mushroom Kingdom II stage. This event match features no time limit. The CPU Marios' artificial intelligence is set at Level 3.
Event Match 22: Super Mario 128 is one of the 51 Event Matches from the Event Mode in Super Smash Bros. Melee.  The player has to kill 128 Tiny Marios in this event. Each of the Marios are tiny so they weigh less and thus are easier to kill. They are smaller too. Marios will start coming down three at a time. As the event progress, four to five Marios will come down at a time. This event is tedious, so items like the Warp Star and Poke Balls are helpful since they can kill multiple Marios.

When the match starts, the player's fighter will spawn on the left side of the center main platform, while the Marios spawn in groups of three to five. The Marios are lightweight, and almost any attack is capable of instantly KOing them, except for horizontal-hitting attacks, which they may be able to survive through wall teching should they be hit from the stage's center. The Marios are also capable of KO'ing each other.
Strategies
Donkey Kong
Use Donkey Kong's down B move to kill the Mario's. Try to stay in the middle of the stage too. Also, beware of explosive items while using this move.

Kirby
Use Kirby's down B move to kill the Mario's. Stay in the air, then when the Mario's spawn, use his stone ability to KO them.

Bowser
Use upB and A smashes.

Pichu
Use up-tilt and up-air.

Trivia
Trivia
*This event match's name is a reference to a GameCube tech demo with the same name, part of which involved 128 small Marios interacting with each other and a small globe that they stood on. The tech demo was originally intended as a sequel to Super Mario 64 but it was ultimately cancelled. Elements from this tech demo were revised in future Mario titles, such as mariowiki.
*The name of this event match is a reference to the series of experiments to test technology that was eventually used in later games from Nintendo, as well as the would-be sequel to Super Mario 64.
