Trouble King is the 1st event match of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

The player controls Mario, who must win a 2 stock match against a CPU Bowser on the Battlefield stage. The event match features no time limit. Bowser is heavily handicapped and his artificial intelligence is set to Level 1.
Event Match 1: Trouble King is the first of the 51 Event Matches in the Event mode of Super Smash Bros. Melee. It is more-or-less a straight-forward 2-stock match between the player's Mario and the computer-controlled Bowser with unlimited time on the Battlefield stage.
When the match starts, Mario spawns at the center of the main platform, while Bowser spawns on the top soft platform.

Names in other languages
This is one of four event matches that take place on the Battlefield stage; the others are Event 36: Space Travelers (later on), Event 37: Legendary Pokemon, and Event 44: Mewtwo Strikes!

Trivia
The "sequel" to this event match, Two Trouble Kings, appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, likewise being the first event match in that game.
*This event match has a successor in the form of Event 42: Trouble King 2. It received another follow-up in Super Smash Bros. Brawl with Event 1: Two Trouble Kings.
Layout
*The music track that plays in this match, "Multi-Man Melee 2", is not used in any other event match until Event 51: The Showdown. In this regard, the two event matches can serve as bookends of the mode.
After selecting Event 1 from the Event mode menu, the match automatically begins with you playing as Mario vs. Bowser on the Battlefield stage. You spawn on the center of the stage's lowest level while Bowser spawns above the topmost platform. Both Mario and Bowser have two lives in stock although you should complete this without losing a life. The stage has an unlimited time for completion.

Event Melee
The object of the match is to KO Bowser twice. Bowser is given an unimpressive AI, most likely Level 2, compelling him to rarely attack, and is given a large handicap, allowing him to be knocked back somewhat easily despite his weight.

Strategies
This is not a difficult Event Match, so most players will not require a specific strategy. However, since it is an Event Match, some hardcore Smashers like to try to set (personal) records for completion time.

The strategy used to achieve the World Record (as noted above) is as follows: as soon as possible, grab and forward throw Bowser off the edge and then jump out and hit him with a forward aerial. Both Mario and Bowser should die. After respawning, either repeat the process or spike Bowser with the top of the Mario Tornado.

Another strategy is to continually hit Bowser with the cape until he is at high enough damage to finish. Bowser does not attack much so you should be safe.
