'''Link's Adventure''' is the 18th [[event match]] of the 51 event matches in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]''. 

The player controls {{SSBM|Link}} and must win a 2 [[stock]] match against a CPU [[Dark Link]] on the [[Temple]] stage. This event match features no time limit. The CPU Dark Link's [[artificial intelligence]] is set at Level 8.

When this match starts, the red Link will spawn on the left side of the center of the stage, while Dark Link spawns on the right side of the center of the stage. Link uses his red costume in this event match. Dark Link is given a completely black sub-color and he lacks any voice samples, but otherwise, he behaves identically to Link. His character icon is dark, indicating he is an all-black character. 

A similar event with the same number appears in ''[[Brawl]]'' under the name [[Dark Link Duel]]; however, rather than using the standard percentage-based damage meter, that battle is fought in [[stamina mode]]. [[Doppelgänger Duel]] in ''[[Smash 4]]'' is also a similar event to Dark Link Duel except that it features{{SSB4|Pit}} and {{SSB4|Dark Pit}} and the player controls Dark Pit instead.

*This event match is a reference to the boss battle in ''{{s|zeldawiki|Zelda II: The Adventure of Link}}'' where Link battles Dark Link in the {{s|zeldawiki|Great Palace}}, which the Temple stage is based on.
**Link's red costume is a reference to the {{iw|zeldawiki|Shield|Magic}} spell used by Link, which would reduce damage taken from the boss battle against Dark Link, which also turns his green tunic red.
*The description of this event match states that Link has "two" dark sides. The significance behind this state has been claimed that it serves as a reference to Dark Link's debut appearance in the '''second''' ''Zelda'' game, though it has also been claimed that it serves as a reference to Dark Link's second appearance as a miniboss in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time]]''; however, it could merely be a reference to the fact that Dark Link has two stocks and must therefore be defeated twice.
