| ====Stages====
| | At E3 2005, the Nintendo Revolution (now called Wii) was unveiled. Satoru Iwata stated that four major games were in production, three of which was called Super Mario 128 (although it was not directly the vaporware game/tech demo shown at Spaceworld 2000), Metroid Prime 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (the name was revealed earlier). They were later confirmed to be Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The third one, called Super Smash Bros. Revolution, was later renamed Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Sakurai was surprised at this announcement, since Satoru had refrained from informing him. However, he accepted Satoru's offer to become the game's director. |

| ====Enemies====
| | At E3 2006, Super Smash Bros. Brawl was officially announced at the After-Hour Press Conference, with the very first trailer. This come as a bit of a shock, since all major games are unveiled in the normal Press Conference. The trailer has became somewhat famous, because of the incorrect statement that the Labrador Retriever was an item, while no mention of the Assist Trophy item was made. The same came true with Final Smash, with many thinking it was just was a extraordinarily strong smash attack. |
| *Koopa Troopa
| |
| *ReDead
| |
| *F-Zero Racers
| |
| *Topi (seal form)
| |
| | |
| ===Notes===
| |
| *Oddly, every time a character uses a grab in the trailer, they are shown to shield first, meaning that the actors are always using the shield+attack inputs instead of the grab button.
| |
| *While Sheik was revealed as a playable character, the trailer does not mention Zelda, and the demo did not allow Sheik to be played. As a result, Zelda's playability was a secret until November 6, 2001, when her page was added to the Melee Smabura-Ken.
| |
| *This is the only E3 demo that features an F-Zero fighter.

| At E3 2005, the Wii was unveiled as the Nintendo Revolution. Alongside a few other games, Super Smash Bros. Brawl was announced by Satoru Iwata, with no title or details given save for that it would feature online play. Sakurai was surprised at this announcement, since Iwata had not contacted him about development of the game. However, he later accepted Iwata's offer to become the game's director.
