Deoxys (デオキシス, Deoxys) is a creature in the Pokémon media franchise.

Origin
Creature description
Deoxys is a bulbapedia-type bulbapedia introduced in bulbapedia, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #386 as the "DNA Pokémon". Originally exclusive to events, Deoxys would later be obtainable through normal gameplay in bulbapedia as part of the post-game bulbapedia, and as such is the first Mythical Pokémon with this distinction. It possesses four different bulbapedias: the Normal Forme, with high attack stats and low defense stats, the Attack Forme, which sharpens even further its disparity between attacking and defensive stats, the Defense Forme, which is much slower and less powerful but severely increases its defensive capabilities, and the Speed Forme, which has balanced offensive and defensive stats and originally had the highest base speed of any Pokémon, before being succeeded by Regieleki. The Attack Forme, originally exclusive to Pokémon FireRed, is the one that appears in the Smash series.
{{pokemon|

Bulbapedia is a special bulbapedia-type move with 150 base power and 90% accuracy. While very powerful, if successful it forces the user to waste one turn to recharge. It is available to most fully-evolved Pokémon with bulbapedia, but Deoxys can also learn it by leveling up in its Normal and Attack Formes.

The Attack Form of Deoxys appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When it comes out of its Poké Ball, it will fly upward, lightly dealing 7% damage and meteor smashing anyone who touches it. Once at the top of the screen it will shoot a powerful Hyper Beam downwards. The Hyper Beam will pull in fighters and deal 1% at the edge (indicated by a faint, blue aura) and 30% at the beam, with the beam having high knockback and being able to one-hit KO Mario. While difficult, it is possible to SDI the edge hits and avoid being hit by the beam. This attack does not harm the summoner.

Deoxys is one of two "Secret Rare" Legendary Pokémon in the Third Generation like Mew and Celebi, the other being Jirachi. It is unique species among Pokémon in many ways; Deoxys are humanoid aliens from outer space that began as an extraterrestrial virus and mutated into a sentient being when exposed to a laser of some sort. Its brain is located in its torso behind the blue crystal, and from it it can launch devestatingly powerful Psychic-type attacks.

Sticker
Deoxys' viral nature is reflected in its unique ability to assume one of four distinctive configurations at will. Its Normal Forme is the most humanoid, where the two tentacles comprising each arm can be morphed into one functional, elastic arm and hand each, and already it has immense offensive statistics. Its Attack Forme gives it a more pointed appearance and turns its two arms into four imposing, sharp tentacles, and it has the highest offensive statistics of all Pokémon at this point. Its Defense Forme gives it more bulk and turns its arms into thick slabs that can block attacks, and it has huge defensive ratings. And its later-introduced Speed Forme causes it to lose the most body mass and have only two small tentacles for arms. Most of its statistics become average but it has a completely unsurpassed agility rating. By coincidence, if it's Normal Forme, Attack Forme, and Defense Forme are put together, it will create DNA, each of the letters standing for each of those three and that Deoxys is a DNA pokemon, but since Speed Forme was added later on, the coincidence in it changed.

Deoxys reappears in Super Smash Bros. 4 as a Poké Ball Pokémon, also being able to appear from the newly-introduced Master Ball. Its function is unchanged from its appearance in Brawl, but its Hyper Beam has significantly less knockback, being unable to KO Mario until around 80%.

Deoxys reappears as a Poké Ball Pokémon in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Its behavior appears to be unchanged from Smash 4.
The Attack Forme of Deoxys appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When it comes out of its Poké Ball, it will fly upward and shoot a powerful Hyper Beam downwards, sending anyone that touches the beam to go flying with force, and if the opponent is close enough, it can suck them in with a strong force.

Deoxys cannot be summoned on Golden Plains nor Tomodachi Life.

Spirit
Deoxys's Normal Forme also appears as a Legend-class primary spirit.

Deoxys's Spirit Battle uses a Mewtwo puppet fighter and is fought on the Mario Galaxy stage's Battlefield form. During the battle, Deoxys' Attacke Forme appears  appears as the Poké Ball Pokémon, while Mewtwo has increased attack power, referencing Deoxys's Attack Forme's high attack stat, which is more powerful than the attack stat of its other formes.

{{langtable
Right before Deoxys ends his Hyper Beam (as it powers down) it is possible to pause the screen at the right time to see that the beam doesn't come from Deoxys's chest. Instead, it comes from its crotch!
