| | Cyndaquil is a small mouse or echidna-like creature with a yellow underbody and dark blue upper half. As stated in the Pokédex, it is timid, and usually stays either hunched over or curled up in a ball. If it is angry, surprised, or attacked, however, it shoots flames out of its back both for protection and for intimidation, and the flames are most vigorous particularly if it is angry. However, if it is tired, the flames sputter with incomplete combustion. |
| Cyndaquil is the basic Fire-type bulbapedia of bulbapedia, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #155 as the "Fire Mouse Pokémon". It evolves into Quilava at level 14 and then into Typhlosion at level 36. In Pokemon Legends Arceus, Cyndaquil still evolves into Quilava, but then later evolves into the Fire/Ghost type Hisuian Typhlosion. It can learn bulbapedia by level-up or, starting with bulbapedia, with bulbapedia in every game where it appears.

| | Cyndaquil is one of the three starting Pokémon in Pokémon Silver, Gold, and Crystal versions (the others being Totodile and Chikorita). It is a fire type, and its final evolution is Typhlosion in the Pokémon games. |

| |
| When summoned from a Poké Ball, Cyndaquil will hop into the air and use Flamethrower, shooting fire from its back. Anyone that is caught in the attack's range will take consistent flame damage similar to Bowser's Fire Breath. It's optimal to grab an opponent while facing Cyndaquil, creating a "trap" of sorts that allows the opponent to take as much damage as possible. Flamethrower has a small attack radius, so it is relatively easy to avoid otherwise. To add, Cyndaquil can be knocked off the stage by any character (even the summoner) using attacks or items, similar to Marill and Chansey. Nothing is awarded for defeating Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil's attack does not harm the summoner.

| | Cyndaquil will hop into the air and use Flamethrower. Fire will be coming out of Cyndaquil's back. Anyone that is caught in the attack's radius will take damage. Flamethrower has a small attack radius, so it is easy to avoid. Cyndaquil can be KO'd by any character. If he is attacked constantly by other characters (including the summoner) or items, or is hit with a powerful smash attack, then he will be knocked off the stage. Nothing is rewarded for KO'ing Cyndaquil. Cyndaquil's attack does not harm the summoner. |
