Corrin (カムイ, Kamui) is a character from the Fire Emblem series. As the playable fireemblemwiki in fireemblemwiki, Corrin is created by the player and can be customized in a variety of ways, including name, appearance, and gender. Corrin is also the main protagonist of Fates, and seeks to stop the conflict between their surrogate homes of fireemblemwiki and fireemblemwiki.
Corrin (カムイ, Kamui) is the main protagonist and player avatar of fireemblemwiki.

Corrin debuted in the Super Smash Bros. series as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4 via downloadable content, and returns as an unlockable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Character description
Like Mark in Fire Emblem, Kris in , and Robin in fireemblemwiki, Corrin is the customizable avatar character in fireemblemwiki. Unlike the others, however, they are also the main character of the story, having the most prominent role of an avatar character in a Fire Emblem game. Corrin's gender, physical appearance, voice, stat builds, and secondary class can be selected by the player before playing. Corrin is notably half-fireemblemwiki, being able to transform parts of their body into that of a dragon, or temporarily transform into a dragon with the power of fireemblemwikis. Corrin and their royal families can use Dragon Vein, a power granted from the ancestral First Dragons, which can be used alter the user's surrounding terrain in a multitude of ways.

Origin
Fire Emblem Fates centers around two kingdoms: the militant kingdom of fireemblemwiki, which is where Corrin grew up after being abducted, and the peaceful kingdom of fireemblemwiki, where Corrin was born. In the beginning of the story, Corrin becomes of age after they best their older brother, fireemblemwiki, in a practice match. King fireemblemwiki of Nohr provides Corrin with the sword fireemblemwiki to be used on the Hoshidan prisoners fireemblemwiki and fireemblemwiki, among others. Corrin succeeds in defeating the prisoners, but refuses to kill them, due to their kind personality. Enraged, Garon has Xander kill the prisoners instead, but Corrin refuses to allow it and briefly clashes with Xander, only for the argument to end when Leo "dispatches" the prisoners, secretly weakening them enough not to be killed and convinces Garon to lessen Corrin's punishment.
Like Mark in fireemblemwiki, Kris in , and Robin in fireemblemwiki, Corrin is the customizable avatar character in fireemblemwiki. Their gender, physical appearance, voice, stat builds, and secondary class are customizable by the player before starting a new game. Corrin starts the game as a Nohr prince/princess. Corrin and their royal families carry the blood of fireemblemwiki, being able to transform themselves or parts of their body to that of a dragon using their fireemblemwiki. They can also use Dragon Veins to alter the surrounding terrain in various ways, a power granted from the ancestral First Dragons.

Fire Emblem Fates is set on the territories of fireemblemwiki and fireemblemwiki. Their royalty share a similar line of descent from the First Dragons, but they worship different deities: the Dawn Dragon and the Dusk Dragon, respectively. Corrin was born in Hoshido but kidnapped to Nohr at a young age, being isolated in the Northern Fortress during their childhood. Once they become of age and best their older brother, fireemblemwiki, in a practice match, King fireemblemwiki deems them worthy, providing them with the sword fireemblemwiki to be used on the Hoshidan prisoners fireemblemwiki and fireemblemwiki, among others. Corrin succeeds in defeating the prisoners but, out of compassion, refuses to kill them. Enraged, Garon has Xander kill the prisoners instead, but Corrin briefly clashes with Xander until fireemblemwiki steps in to dispatch them (secretly leaving them alive) and convince Garon to lessen Corrin's punishment.
Garon decides to send Corrin to inspect a Hoshidan fortress above the Bottomless Canyon to pardon their crime. However, one of Garon's men, fireemblemwiki, provokes the Hoshidans into battle and knocks fireemblemwiki, one of Corrin's companions, into the abyss of the canyon. Hoshidan soldiers soon find and capture Corrin, who eventually recognize them as the long-lost member of the Hoshidan royal family. Corrin then meets their blood relatives and the songstress fireemblemwiki, a former Nohrian Princess raised in Hoshido, at the capital city. However, a hooded assassin attempts to kill Corrin, with Corrin's mother, Queen fireemblemwiki, shielding them at the cost of her life. Distraught at her death, Corrin transforms into their dragon form for the first time and goes on a rampage. During this time, invisible soldiers continue to attack Hoshido; they and the hooded assassin are driven back by Corrin and their allies. Corrin continues their rampage, but is calmed down by Azura, who sings fireemblemwiki to revert them to their human form. In the aftermath, Corrin comes to possess the legendary Yato blade, which is said to belong to the one who will save the world. Corrin's families eventually meet together in battle, and Corrin is forced to side with either their adoptive family in Nohr, or their blood family in Hoshido, or choose neither side and fight them both. After the battle, the story continues with Corrin returning to their chosen family, or if they chose neither side, dropping into the Bottomless Canyon with Azura.

However, a hooded assassin attempts to kill Corrin, with Corrin's mother, Queen fireemblemwiki, shielding them at the cost of her life. Out of distress, Corrin's dragon blood is awakened, transforming them into a Feral Dragon and causing them to rampage. Their rampage routs the hooded assassin as well as other mysterious soldiers in pursuit of Hoshido. Corrin is calmed down by Azura, who sings fireemblemwiki to revert them to their human form. Afterwards, Corrin is given a dragonstone to control their dragon form at will, and claims the legendary Yato blade, which is said to belong to the one who will save the world. The Hoshidan and Nohrian royal families, now aware of Corrin's heritage, declare war on each other and eventually meet in battle for both conquest of their respective lands and custody of Corrin. Upon witnessing this great struggle, Corrin is forced to make a choice over who to side with.
Corrin's starts in the fireemblemwiki class, a class exclusive to them and their child, fireemblemwiki. In this class, they can wield swords and Dragonstones. They can also draconically transform parts of their body to attack when attacking using fireemblemwiki skill. With a Master Seal, Corrin can promote to a fireemblemwiki and gain the ability to wield tomes, or to a fireemblemwiki and gain the ability to use staves. In addition to this, Corrin has a wealth of other options - they can reclass into their secondary class with a Heart Seal, their spouse's base class with a Partner Seal, or an A+ supporting character's base class with a Friendship Seal. As they are able to Support almost nearly every playable character in the game, this gives them a myriad of possibilities for reclassing. Finally, they can use any of the various special reclassing items to access otherwise inaccessible classes, such as the Dread Fighter, Ballistican, or even character-specific classes like Marth's Lodestar class.

This choice is dependant on what campaign the player takes, which all diverge at this point. In the Birthright campaign, Corrin sides with Hoshido and helps push the Nohr forces back, and is labeled a traitor in the process. In the Conquest campaign, Corrin sides with Nohr and helps push the Hoshido forces back, and is labeled a traitor in the process. In the Revelation campaign, Corrin refuses to take a side and instead forms an underground resistance movement in an effort to defeat both kingdoms and establish peace between them.
Since Fates, both the default male and female versions of Corrin have appeared in other Fire Emblem games. Both versions of Corrin can be summoned as illusory allies in fireemblemwiki using the matching Smash amiibo, and both versions appear as units the player can recruit in the crossover game fireemblemwiki. Female Corrin also appears prominently as a playable character in fireemblemwiki, with the male version of Corrin available as well outside of story mode.

Trivia
<!--Do not add how Corrin is the first LQBTQ+ character to appear in Smash, as it is not particularly relevant to their appearance in the Smash series, nor has this status been officially confirmed.-->
*Corrin is the second character in the series to be added before the worldwide releases of their game (after Fire Emblem fighter Roy). However, Roy's game wasn't released anywhere at the time of his debut in Smash, while Corrin's had by then been released in Japan.
*Male Corrin's artwork in SSB4 is similar to his official art in Fates, albeit with his left hand in a different position and his sword being angled more downwards. Female Corrin's artwork, however, is identical to her official art in Fates, but she now wears black stockings covering her inner thighs. Both artworks also feature the two wielding the Omega Yato instead of the standard Yato.
*With a debut on June 2015, Corrin was the most recently debuted playable character following their release as DLC for SSB4.
*Though Corrin appears as male by default in Smash, most media released after Fates more prominently features female Corrin, such as Fire Emblem Heroes (where female Corrin is used as the icon for Fates), Fire Emblem Warriors, and Fire Emblem Engage. This is also reflected in Ultimate, as female Corrin is present on the difficulty selection banner for Classic Mode.
*Corrin, Luigi, Yoshi, Snake, and Joker are the only fighters to have featured material from upcoming games in Smash, whether by means of their universe's content or moveset—in Corrin's case, their inclusion as DLC marked the debut of the English version of "Lost in Thoughts All Alone", two weeks before the American launch of Fire Emblem Fates.
*Corrin is the only Fire Emblem character whose onscreen appearance does not involve teleportation onto the stage using warp magic.
*As with the other fighters with male and female variants, the male and female variants of Corrin are established as separate entities in at least one instance. In Fire Emblem Warriors, one gendered variant of Corrin can encounter the other as an enemy in a bonus mission. Both can also be seen separately in Sora's trailer.
