Chansey makes its debut in Super Smash Bros., using Softboiled as its "attack". During each appearance, it will give up to three eggs which contain items in them. These eggs can also explode, and unlike normal items, these eggs can be attacked before they land.

Chansey also appears in the Saffron City stage and gives a single egg when it appears out of the door of the Silph Building (unless items have been turned off). Also, it cures a small amount of damage when touching players. Chansey can be KO'd by characters and by items; however, there is no reward for doing so.

Chansey makes another appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Chansey's attributes are identical to those from the previous game, except now it will give up to five eggs. These eggs, being normal Eggs, will either heal for 7%, contain an item, or explode. Chansey, like Cyndaquil and Marill, can be KO'd.

A giant balloon of Chansey (in actuality, the 3D model of Chansey used in Pokémon Stadium for Nintendo 64) is one of the many floating and bending "platforms" that comprise the Poké Floats stage. Compared to the other balloons, Chansey's balloon appears and disappears rather rapidly and jerkily, but in a pattern.

Renowned for its kind temperament, Chansey has been known to offer injured creatures its highly nutritious egg to aid their recovery. Legend has it that this charitable creature brings happiness to anyone who captures it. All Chansey are female, and every now and then one is found in possession of a Lucky Egg.

Chansey is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in bulbapedia. It evolves from Happiny when leveled up while holding an Oval Stone in the daytime from bulbapedia onwards, and evolves into Blissey when leveled up with high friendship from bulbapedia onwards. It is very rare and hard to catch, only being found in a few areas with low probability. In the animated series, and by extension in bulbapedia, it is often found as the assistant of bulbapedia in bulbapedias located in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh.

Softboiled is a Normal-type move which heals the user of half its maximum HP, and can also be used outside of battle to heal its teammates while damaging the user. It was bulbapedia in Generation I only, where it could be learned only by Chansey and Mew, while in later games it became a level-up move for both Chansey and Blissey, which remain the only Pokémon able to learn it naturally.
