The '''chain''' [[effect]] is used by a small amount of attacks in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]''. They are exclusively used for {{SSBU|Simon}} and {{SSBU|Richter}}'s attacks that feature the long chain of their whip. 

The chain effect is entirely cosmetic: it applies a stabbing visual effect, a straight line in the direction of the attack. It is similar to [[stab (effect)|stab]] except with green and chartreuse coloring (instead of yellow and purple) followed by a crescent-shaped visual effect going in the same direction.
