As for the MoS thing, this is not an issue of whether "Power Rankings" is used more commonly than "power rankings" as a generic term. "____ Power Rankings" is used to name a specific region's PRs, while "power rankings" is used for the term in general. Here are various examples of professionally-written Smash-related articles where people use "power rankings" in lowercase to refer to the general term. :I'd like to point out that all of those are news/blog/editorial articles, which are third-party sources that will not necessarily subscribe to a universal standard. If you can find a primary source that does not use the so-called 'standard', I will change my stance. ::Many of the people who wrote those articles are active members of the Smash community; besides, their's nothing stopping them from writing it as "Power Rankings" if they really wanted to.
::As for primary sources, I'm assuming you're referring to when a region releases their latest PR. These are named "(name of region) Power Rankings", which basically proves my point that only the proper noun names of a place will use it capitalized. Here is a YouTube video released by a college Smash community, where in the description, "power rankings" is used to refer to the generic term. :::I'm on the fence for your new example, but I may slide toward accepting it. I'll need to think about this one. ::::In addition, the eSports articles I linked are written in a professional manner and formal style. Since SmashWiki uses a formal writing style, it would be more appropriate to use the more formal variation of the term, which, based on the examples I linked, would mean using the lowercase "power rankings." Nah Power Ranking is as good as a proper nown to us, always has been. <span style="font-family:Algerian;font-size:10pt;background:#000;border:outset #083 2px;padding:1px 3px"><span style="color:#083">Serpent</span>&nbsp;&nbsp;<span style="color:#ed0">King</span></span> 03:36, 4 March 2018 (EST)
:Names should be based on what the community in general uses, not just what SmashWiki uses. ::Your argument only gives this vote another kick in the 'oppose' direction. My research has told me that the community mainly uses it in proper noun form. ::::Sorry, I thought I responded here. All I did was simply google "power rankings smash", and nearly all the instances of 'Power Ranking' I could find used proper noun capitals. In fact, the only instances that I could find that did NOT follow this rule were on the wiki itself. Granted, there are probably better ways of doing that kind of research, and I'm sure I'll get a ton of talk pages from you telling me what they are. Fact is, I was trying something that the average joe not fully versed in how the competitive scene (such as myself) would do, and interpret. :::::When you google "power rankings smash", the words "Power Rankings" is capitalized because it's the name of a specific thing. Consider this sentence: "The National Football League is a football league." the words "Football League" in NFL are capitalized because it refers to a specific league. The words "football league" at the end of the sentence refer to the generic term. <span style="color: red;">Awesome</span> <span style="color: red;">Cardinal</span> <span style="color: red;">2000</span> 18:07, 6 March 2018 (EST)
::::::Ah, but I was looking at the text bodies as well, not just the page titles. That aside, you pretty much just admitted that PR is a proper noun by saying what you just did. Anyway, I have nothing more to say on this, and we're all just going in circles, so I'm motioning to declare this proposal failed. :::::::We're not "going in circles", you're failing to respond to what I said. It is laughable to attempt to declare this proposal "failed" when you deeply misunderstand the purpose of this.
:::::::If you want me to explain the sentence I said above, I'll say it again:
::::::: "The SoCal Power Rankings" is a power ranking covering the region of Southern California." The first usage of "Power Rankings" is capitalized because it refers to a specific thing, the second usage of "power rankings" is lowercase because it refers to the generic term. <span style="color: red;">Awesome</span> <span style="color: red;">Cardinal</span> <span style="color: red;">2000</span> 18:25, 6 March 2018 (EST)
:::::::Also, are you just going to ignore the five articles I linked where "power rankings" is used in lowercase to refer to the generic term? <span style="color: red;">Awesome</span> <span style="color: red;">Cardinal</span> <span style="color: red;">2000</span> 18:26, 6 March 2018 (EST)
::::::::Claiming we're not going in circles, and then telling me that I'm ignoring those articles inspired my biggest facepalm ever. I dismissed all five of them with a very good reason why, and that was that.
