Kirby can suck him up to learn the Crash ability, the ultimate weapon for wiping out every last enemy on the screen. Use it once and it's gone!

If he falls or bumps into something, he'll explode. With the right timing, you can throw him at enemies and do loads of damage!

{{cquote|Hold the Bomber up with the A button and a massive explosion will occur in 1.5 seconds.
Bomber appears as an item. It spawns walking around, similarly to a Bob-omb. If left alone for long enough, or it walks off an edge and falls onto a surface below, it detonates in a huge, powerful explosion that slows down time just beforehand. Unlike in its original Kirby appearance, it may choose to turn around upon reaching an edge.

The Bomber can also be used as a held item. When picked up, the user will lift it above their head for several seconds, much like the Special Flag. Eventually, this will slow down time before the Bomber detonates, resulting in a massive explosion around the user that deals heavy damage and knockback to any nearby opponents; this does not harm the user. However, if held and left unused, the Bomber will eventually detonate after a set timer, which can harm the user as well. If the Bomber is left to its own devices and reaches a ledge, it will behave like in its home series and drop from it, detonating on impact with the nearest surface below. The explosion deals more damage if the victim is closer to its center. Unlike other standard explosions, the Bomber's explosions cannot be absorbed.

Spirit
Bomber also appears as an Advanced-class support spirit. Its Spirit Battle uses a Kirby puppet fighter and is fought on the Dream Land GB stage. During the battle, the Bomber appears as the item while Kirby starts off with a Bomber.

In addition to the above, equipping the Electrode, Crash Man, or Subspace Bomb support spirits will give the player a Bomber at a start of their stock.

Trivia
*Bomber's trophy in Smash 3DS is flipped from its Brawl trophy pose.
*Much like the Waddle Doos from Waddle Dee Throw, Kirby does not gain the Crash ability upon inhaling a Bomber, unlike in his home series. In Ultimate, he simply takes damage identically to inhaling any other explosive item.
