| | | Apples are a special kind of item that only appear in the Green Greens stage. Whispy Woods will shake his branches and unleash 2-5 apples from its leaves. Although it's an item, it disappears faster than regular items, like the Hammer head. Two things can happen out of random when the player picks up an apple: |

| Apple is an item that can only appear in the Green Greens stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
| | *The apple will heal the player by about 10% (but only if recovery items are turned on). |
| | | *The apple can be picked up and thrown at an opponent for a decent amount of damage. It can deal around 7-13%, and if thrown at the ground right in front of someone (while in the air above them), the apple may bounce up and deal 1%. It has a chance of exploding. |

| In many different Kirby games, apples have sometimes appeared in various levels. They usually appear alongside a wikirby boss fight, implying that Whispy is an Apple Tree. Kirby is able to inhale them and spit them back out at enemies. Waiting for apples to drop, then inhaling them and spitting them back out is the intended strategy to defeat Whispy.

| ==Overview==
| |
| On the stage, Whispy Woods shakes his branches every 80 seconds, causing 2 to 5 apples to spawn on the stage. Apples spawned by Whispy Woods come in two variants. One variant acts as a standard healing item, recovering 10% of a character's damage. The second variant acts as a throwing item that can inflict average knockback and 7 to 14% damage; they also have a chance of exploding when thrown, like Eggs, in which case they deal 22% damage with high knockback. Both variants can damage characters as they fall from the Whispy Woods, dealing about 1% each with weak vertical knockback.
| |
| | |
| Apples disappear faster than most other items, similar to the Hammer head.

They're nice to have around when you don't have any Copy Abilities, but they do damage when they hit you, so they can be a bother too. They offer no ability when swallowed. These apples are not produced by Whispy Woods. | |
