During the event, all matches were [[Team Battle]]s with [[amiibo]] teammates.

In the 2024 iteration, the banner and description would be changed, as well as the English PAL region name being changed to match the NTSC name.

*This was the first Online Tourney event to feature team battles, as well as allow amiibo to participate.
**This was also the first time in the entire ''Smash'' series to allow team battles in any of the games' Tourney modes.
*{{SSBU|Dark Samus}}, {{SSBU|Richter}} and every character in Fighters Pass 1 and 2 had their amiibo released after the tournament's first run and thus were not available as amiibo teammates.
**This was updated in the first repeat to include Dark Samus, Richter and all Fighters Pass characters up to {{SSBU|Min Min}}. The second repeat added {{SSBU|Steve}}, {{SSBU|Sephiroth}} and {{SSBU|Kazuya}}, while the third repeat added {{SSBU|Sora}}.
