The 1 button (or one button) is a small button located towards the bottom of the Wii Remote, right above the 2 button. Both the 1 and 2 buttons match the color of the Wii Remote shell.

Overview
When playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl or forwiiu with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, the 1 button executes a character's up taunt. If 1 and 2 are pressed together in Nunchuk style, a character does their side taunt (leaving the 2 button as the down taunt). When playing with the Wii Remote held sideways, the 1 button is used for special moves. If 1 and 2 are pressed together in horizontal style, the character performs a smash attack.

In Brawl and For Wii U, the 1 button can be remapped to perform other functions.
