Mr. Game & Watch[edit]

Decided to bring this up since I was the one who made the change for Mr. Game & Watch.

I do agree that "Maister was the better G&W for a much longer period of time", however in the grand scheme of things I don't believe this is relevant at all if Miya's achievements in his short period of time trumps what Maister had in his entire career, and if we look at the statistics, it certainly seems that way:

Currently, Miya has 3 supermajor wins and 5 major wins for a total of 8 major/supermajor wins, while Maister has 0 of any. Miya's win list is also on par if not better than what Maister has as well. The only top 10 wins Maister has that Miya doesn't are MkLeo, Sparg0, and Glutonny. However, I feel like the first two wins require some context. Maister's last win over Sparg0 was at SWT: Central America Ultimate Regional Finals, literally the tournament before Sparg0 became a top 3 player, so Maister's Sparg0 wins were over a Sparg0 who wasn't a top player yet. In addition, Maister lost to MkLeo a total of 17 times before finally defeating him... and since then he has still yet to defeat him a second time; I feel like if you were to play the same player multiple times, you are bound to have at least one victory over said player. On the other hand, Miya also has top 10 wins that Maister doesn't, that being Riddles (Maister is 0-3 while Miya is 3-1) and acola... and although Miya's record against acola is also pretty bad, Miya got his acola win in significantly less sets than Maister's MkLeo win (4).

Admittedly, I was going to leave your edit be the first time you made the change, but after asking the Discord server everyone unanimously said that Miya was the definitive best Mr. Game & Watch player of all-time, which was why I reverted the first edit. I'm bringing this up since I don't want an edit war to go on the page, and so I decided to elaborate my points more. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 22:28, October 3, 2023 (EDT)
