In 2007 MLG decided to no longer have Melee on the Pro Circuit due to them wanting to focus on the next generation of video game consoles and because Brawl was coming out soon. Despite this they still helped out the Melee community by renting venues and supplying TV's and other equipment to several independently run tournaments across the country.
