A stalled dash attack is an unofficial name for a technique in Super Smash Bros Brawl that may take an opponent by surprise. The idea of a stalled dash attack is to attack at the last possible frame of the characters' running animation, similar to Dash Dancing in SSBM. The character will perform their Dash attack while they appear to stand still instead of their basic A attack.

How to perform it

  • Quickly run in one direction.
  • Right before the running animation ends tap the Neutral Attack button.
  • Your character performs their dash attack while appearing still.

This technique is very noticeable when used by Snake, Luigi, and Donkey Kong.
