Even though I'm an admin, I will still brawl anyone that challenges me, regardless of their skill level. If you want to Brawl me, contact me here or on the IRC. If you wish, you can also ask me for my Pokémon FCs or for my Wii code (to exchange vault data). If you do brawl me, be sure to have tourney rules set. I'm also on the IRC everyday and due to my inconsistent sleeping patterns, you can find me on there in the most unusual of hours.

the protection log

What does it do and how come admins only use it. ..... HD PikachuHeadSSBB.png H 19:53, 7 August 2011 (EDT)

Semi-Protection prevents IPs from editing an article while full protection prevents non admin users from editing as well. For why only admins can protect a page, such a tool could very easily be abused if the common user had access to it, especially during edit wars. If you're talking about the log for recording protection, I'm pretty sure non admins can view it. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 19:58, 7 August 2011 (EDT)

I answered that, the protect tool is far too abusable to be trusted with non admins. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 08:52, 8 August 2011 (EDT)

Yo

Is there a rule about how old people have to be to join this wiki? If necessary, I will leave this wiki.--PSIWolf (TCE) 14:25, 13 August 2011 (EDT)

Wikia had a rule you have to be at least 13 years old to join their Wikis. For our Wiki however, we do not. And while many sub 13 users can be very annoying, enough of them have shown the capability of being constructive users (such as yourself and Ivy73), that I would not support implementing an age limit anytime soon (not to mention how easy it would be to lie about your age, making such enforcement impossible without the person lying screwing up). Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 14:30, 13 August 2011 (EDT)
K. Why would there be a age limit anyway... This is a wiki right? And btw, I ain't lying :P--PSIWolf (TCE) 14:33, 13 August 2011 (EDT)
I meant minimum age, and they would be implemented on a Wiki with the belief younger users would not be mature enough to be constructive on the Wiki. However, since maturity is based on the individual, implementing such a rule would prevent a Wiki from getting legitimate, constructive editors that benefit the Wiki. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 14:36, 13 August 2011 (EDT)
I see. Thanks.--PSIWolf (TCE) 14:37, 13 August 2011 (EDT)

I believe Wikia maintains you must be 13 because of some US law; many sites I've seen say you either have to be 13 or have a parent/guardian that gives permission. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Different 14:54, 13 August 2011 (EDT)

Then it's good. I have parental permission anyway.--PSIWolf (TCE) 14:57, 13 August 2011 (EDT)

I keep seeing some users only edit the Smasharena, and I don't see those users around often, just saying. ..... I'll take a that hot dog PikachuHeadSSBB.png Super 19:54, 13 August 2011 (EDT)

If I missed any users who been around for a bit and made no contributions outside to their userpage and the Smash Arena, you can give them the warning yourself. If you feel you shouldn't be the one to give them the warning for whatever reason, or you're not sure they necessitate a warning, you can always point them out to me. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 19:59, 13 August 2011 (EDT)

Do you happen to know

...if the nipple spike in SSBM is counted as a meteor smash by bonuses? What about Dr. Mario's up smash? Toomai Glittershine ??? The Golden 19:39, 14 August 2011 (EDT)

In Melee, if an attack that has meteor smash hitboxes KO, you always get the meteor smash bonus regardless of if you actually meteor smashed someone, or even KO'd them with the meteor smash hitbox. As such, getting a KO with Young Link's dair will always give you the meteor smash bonus, regardless of if you landed the meteor smash. Likewise, getting a KO with the nipple spike will still give you the meteor smash bonus. As for Dr. Mario's up smash, I don't recall it giving a meteor smash bonus for KOs with it. You never said anything about moving it yourself on the talk page discussion, and BNK started it about a week ago. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 08:30, 18 August 2011 (EDT)
It was to be a minor surprise, as I didn't expect any other admin to do it first. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Researcher 08:31, 18 August 2011 (EDT)

Hey Omega Tyrant How do you remove an account because I'm not going to be on the wiki anymore StoneSteal PeachHeadSSBB.png 01:29, 26 August 2011 (EDT)

Only bureaucrats can delete accounts, and we only do that for vandal/spam accounts. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 08:19, 26 August 2011 (EDT)

Suspicion

Tyrant, I'm starting to get suspicious about Goomba's Shoe15. When did he create his SmashWiki account? I'm suspicious about why he created his account, because he may have done it just to bring up matters from off this wiki. By the way, have you read my complete warning system? SmashPeter (talk) 12:40, 26 August 2011 (EDT)

He said he created it to make interwiki links on some pages.--PSIWolf (TCE) 12:45, 26 August 2011 (EDT)
He created his account weeks before you came, and outside the one incident with you, he has not started anything with a user based on off Wiki matters.
For your warning system, I read it, and I believe it to be unnecessary bureaucracy. We don't need a warning template, or a whole system dictating us how to warn and block. Plus, I disagree with the many of the listed offenses, such as users not marking their edits as minor, making large changes to pages without "approval", and creating "non constructive" subpages. Plus, many of the listed offenses are being deemed here more or less severe than they are, such as adding fanon being a "level 4 offense", when most such cases were done by users not knowing the Wiki doesn't accept fanon, and failure to follow most policies only being a "level 2 offense", when a user shouldn't be disregarding any policy, let alone multiple policies.
As such, I'll oppose its implementation, as I believe all offenses are handled by a case by case basis, and that the judgment of the Wiki's admins is trusted enough to where they do not need policies dictating them exactly how to act. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 13:38, 26 August 2011 (EDT)
Omega Tyrant is right. While rules are generally useful, on a small wiki like this having a warning system like that makes things more complicated, when thing would be better handled by the admins themselves. Mr. Anon (talk) 18:00, 26 August 2011 (EDT)

Question...

Okay, so I have an article on my userpage that talks about something Nintendo-wise that's been bugging me, and I change it weekly. I was wanting to know if its allowed/possible to archive that specific article when the week ends. If it is allowed, would it work sort of like your "userbox" page, or an actual archive-type thing. 25T16 DrMarioHeadSSBM.png It's-a me! 12:43, 27 August 2011 (EDT)

Toon Link

How is he?--PSIWolf (TCE) 13:39, 27 August 2011 (EDT)

In Ocarina of Time, Young Link/Adult Link are two versions of the same person. Toon Link on the other hand is from a different game (The Wind Waker) and, as the introductory sequence of TWW confirms, that game is set a long time after OoT. Miles (talk) 13:50, 27 August 2011 (EDT)
But Toon Link IS Link right? There can't be 2 Links with one different styled...--PSIWolf (TCE) 13:51, 27 August 2011 (EDT)
Read, the Link in Wind Waker is not the same Link as the one in Twilight Princess or Ocarina of Time. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 14:03, 27 August 2011 (EDT)
Fine, sorry. Good luck with Irene by the way, OT.--PSIWolf (TCE) 14:04, 27 August 2011 (EDT)

upload screenshots

Firstly, I've tried and failed to load screenshots from the Album to an SD card, then to a computer. It won't show the image memory, and won't show their preview. Am I doing something wrong? Also, I have somehow destroyed the limited rotation of the camera when pausing gameplay. This has proven somewhat useful, as it allows me to view things not seen normally without an unlimited rotation. e.g Pikachu's lightning cloud when using his up special. Can I upload these images, for contructive purposes? As it is not hacking, it is allowed to upload such images, correct? Pikmin Brawler OlimarHeadSSBB.png Go Steve the Pikmin! 00:25, 29 August 2011 (EDT)

You have to decrypt snapshots before you can view them off Brawl. To decrypt snapshots, download this program called Bin2jpg. Once you done that, unzip its content somewhere. Then move/copy the snapshot files to the same location the files of Bin2jpg are located. Once you done that, activate the batch file, which will then produce a jpg image of every snapshot file in its location.
Beware though, if you use a Mac, Bin2jpg will not work for you.
For snapshots that use unrestricted camera, I see no problem with using them in our mainspace. In fact, they would be preferred, as they still show you what you see ingame, but with more freedom to see that ingame content. (after seeing the freedom of unrestricted camera, I wonder why the camera is so restricted in the first place, what's the point?) Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 09:28, 29 August 2011 (EDT)
Well, in response to above comment, the restricted camera angle was to prevent players from going around stages, and unlimited zooming in/out. In Delfino Plaza, if I zoom completely out, I can see Delfino Island is whole, and is in a snowglobe. Also, I've found this thing above Peach, when excecuting Peach Blossum. (You know that light shines on her, right?) well, I've found a thing that looks like a clump of white and pink berries, with a tiny, mini palm tree on top. I think this is useless to show, but I do have an image, so I wanted to know what you think.
That being said, thank you for the help. I'll be sure to download this by Saturday or earlier, as today I can't, and school begins Wednesday. If you need images that can't be normally taken, e.g whole stages, just ask :)! Pikmin Brawler OlimarHeadSSBB.png Go Steve the Pikmin! 10:23, 29 August 2011 (EDT)
That's not really a reason to restrict players' cameras, especially to the degree they do so on some stages (like Halberd, where you have barely any control).
For your suggestion, I need to know what context you plan to add it in, and perhaps seeing the picture first. As for needing images that normally can't be taken, I can do that myself, as I use the unrestricted camera hack. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 10:28, 29 August 2011 (EDT)
Since you also have unrestricted camera (hack? i didn't use a hack, how'd i get it?) play as Peach, go to Final Destination, and do her Final Smash. Halfway through, when the light is clearley visible, pause, and zoom way out, to the point to where you see the thing emitting light. (It's very high above Peach, only during her final smash) That's what I'm taking about. Pikmin Brawler OlimarHeadSSBB.png Go Steve the Pikmin! 10:38, 29 August 2011 (EDT)
Maybe i may have some for someone to enjoy and i will upload some.--BrandondorfFile:Lemsdadhead (SSBB).png 15:21, 29 August 2011 (EDT)
