Audio files

Would it be necessary for this page to have audio files of the crowd cheers in Ultimate? SonDanielAn icon for my signature.A signature head icon. (talk page) 01:19, April 13, 2020 (EDT)

As all of the other crowd cheer pages have them, yes we will need them. Unfortunately I don't have the tools to make them, otherwise I would. 001Toad.jpg OmegαToαd the Toαd Wαrrior (BUP) 01:30, April 13, 2020 (EDT)
Do they have the cheer audio files in the sound test of the game? SonDanielAn icon for my signature.A signature head icon. (talk page) 14:50, April 13, 2020 (EDT)

Characters

The recently added character Steve isn't on this page. Is there a reason behind that, or did people didn't think about it? QwertyPc_Game17 09:30, October 24, 2020 (EDT)

They haven't been uploaded. sounds-resource.com has them but they are all .wav, whereas Thenonexistent (the user who has uploaded most, if not all of the clips) uploaded .ogg files. For the sake of consistency I'd wait for them to handle it. --CanvasK (talk) 09:56, October 24, 2020 (EDT)

Too many audio files to load at once (on Firefox and possibly on other browsers)

On latest Firefox 82.0, running on Ubuntu 20.04, there seems to be at least a few hundred instances of audio players loading, for every audio file on the page. This can also happen on other web browsers, including all Chromium-based ones. In my case, I get multiple yellow bar notices about the page becoming unresponsive, with options to either wait or stop loading it. While I can keep clicking on "wait", it has to be done multiple times for the page to fully load, which gets annoying real fast.

In order to prevent problems like this from happening, I suggest splitting up the current page into several more pages (example criteria can be based on language or alternate costumes). Alternatively, make a version of the page without the audio files, just the transcripts. Worldblender (talk) 23:58, October 24, 2020 (EDT)

I agree that this should probably be split, I'd say by language. Loading the page uses at least 0.8 GB of memory and takes about 20 seconds to be able to interact with or scroll the page. On mobile it also takes a while, then causes rendering issue when scrolling, which freezes if you scroll too far down, which makes you wait again and repeat the process. --CanvasK (talk) 18:07, April 8, 2021 (EDT)
