FAQ
All of these questions aren't really "frequently asked", but they have the biggest chance of being asked.
Can you help me with wiki stuff?
Yes.
What are you doing with the categories?
The reason I re-sort pages is because I want to be the pages sorted as a dictionary. Without my changes, a category may look like this:
- A Zeus
- A-Y
- AXsS
- AaQ
- Aacdef
Which is the wrong order. After my changes:
- Aacdef
- AaQ
- AXsS
- A-Y
- A Zeus
I hate people speaking English with bad grammar. May I correct it?
Yep.
What's with these upper/lowercase thing?
I make words lowercase because I'm pretty sure that Typing Like Ths Isn't Correct English.
Things that SHOULD be uppercase:
- Countries, cities, mountains etc. (Sweden, Stockholm, Kebnekaise)
- People of these countries, cities, mountains etc. (Swedes, Stockholmians, Kebnekaisians)
- Months and days of the week (Monday, January)
- Names and nicknames (Smiddle, Oskar)
- Abbreviatons (USA, WD, DI), but abbeviations shouldn't be used in the first place at all.
Lowercase:
- Verbs and adjectives (wall-jumping, L-canceling)
- Some fan made terms (smasher, wavedash)
Even if everythingis capitalized in the games, you should keep in mind that the people working at Nintendo are Japanese.

Thanks
Thanks for the support. I'm very poor at Swedish, so it's helpful to get tips. Thanks again ^_^ --MaskedMarth 19:39, December 5, 2006 (GMT)

Category|Name
What's the difference between [[:Category:Smasher]] and [[:Category:Smasher|NintendoKing]]? I've seen it done lots of places but I've wondered what the practical difference is...
- So that the page NintendoKing would be categorized as "Nintendoking". The reason is, that someone named Nintendoisbest woukd come after NintendoKing, which is weird. – Smiddle / talk 16:52, January 11, 2007 (GMT)
Deleting a page
I don't know if you have administrative authority, or if you need it to delete pages, but I created a page which already exist. I created Board The Platforms when there was already a Board the Platforms (the mistake due to a broken link). -ShoeThief
- Nope, I'm not an admin and therefore I can't delete pages. Here is a list of admins. But thank you for the compliment anyway :) – Smiddle ( Talk • Conts ) 10:19, January 21, 2007 (GMT)

External Links Formatting
You seem to be on a needless mission to change all of these:
External Links
into these:
External Links
Any particular reason why? I'm formatting them in this way because the majority of external links and references do come from SWF and it's much sloppier to have nine links to nine different forum topics that read "TopicName - SWF" along with one that's a myspace. Plus it establishes the forums as the authoritative source for smasher information. Before I continue working on expanding all of these articles, I will need to work out the idiosyncrasies with formatting, so let me know what your thoughts are. I just don't want to waste time coding a bunch of stuff that you will systematically go through and change afterwards; it's a big enough project as is. -- Randall00 14:49, February 23, 2007 (GMT)
- I don't have any particular reason. If you want me to stop, I can do that. But you may see me turning the bold text into 4-headlines, because I don't think bold text as headlines are good. – Smiddle ( Talk • Conts ) 15:14, February 23, 2007 (GMT)
- Well, okay, but I do recommend 5-headlines. 4 is pretty huge text for such a small categorical division. And 5 looks virtually the same as bold text, so I don't really understand what makes it not "good" by comparison to the headline formatting. Don't get me wrong, do whatever you like, it just seems like a bit of a waste of effort that could be spent better elsewhere. -- Randall00 15:50, February 23, 2007 (GMT)
- I meant 3-headlines. I said the wrong thing. Also, headlines produce an editable link to the right, bold text doesn't. – Smiddle ( Talk • Conts ) 16:25, February 23, 2007 (GMT)
Nice page bud. Ahem...SmashWiki is an encyclopedia. Not some "zomgz tihs is teh fanney!1" site. n_n

Query
Uhh..."don't use state abbreviations"? What is the problem with state abbreviations? -- Randall00 Talk 01:15, March 7, 2007 (GMT)
- Some people who aren't born in the United States (like me) do not always understand what these abbreviations mean. – Smiddle ( Talk • Conts ) 16:10, March 7, 2007 (GMT)
Hey AltAcnt
I am in Göteborg as I type :). There's a line of people waiting for this computer so I canät say much, but I really like this town! I'll be performing here, see ya! – MaskedMarth (t c) 16:16, March 25, 2007 (GMT)
Thanks
I found that out immediately after making the new article. I was kinda sad. Thanks for the tip.
Prose?
What did you mean by a list needing to be organized into prose? I'll be glad to fix it if I knew what it meant! -James Sparrow
- Oh, I just put that thing on lists instead of "this is incomplete" or similar. – Smiddle ( Talk • Conts ) 13:40, April 24, 2007 (GMT)
Pikachu revert
Hi, I see you reverted the Pikachu article. You might not be aware of how all that happened, but in the past several months there was discussion on several talk pages including the Pool Room and Talk:Mario that agreed to having general pages with names like Mario and Pikachu that describe the character in general, then have sections linking to their gameplay fighter pages. Kirby King proposed this way back in February, and when I proposed a similar version on the pool room in March you agreed. Currently the pages that have been written like this are all the Universe pages, Mario, Pikachu, and Super Scope, and on Talk:Mario Thores and The Magnum Master agree it's a good idea too. Just wanted to bring this to your attention, thanks. Erik the Appreciator 13:51, June 25, 2007 (EDT)
- Oh. I can be a bit [adjective] sometimes. I've also forgot what adjective to put in there. – Smiddle ( Talk • Conts ) 14:46, June 25, 2007 (EDT)
- Oh, not to worry. Any questions, comments, or concerns should be directed towards the talk pages, and constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Erik the Appreciator 14:51, June 25, 2007 (EDT)
