Classic mode is a default single player mode in Super Smash Bros. Melee. This mode follows the same format as the one player mode in Super Smash Bros. However, it has more variation and a random factor to it since most of the characters and stages are chosen at random. Completing Classic Mode will earn you a trophy replica (classic trophy) of the character you are playing as.

  1. Standard one on one match.
  2. Two on two match (the player is given a random ally to help them complete the match)
  3. Break the Targets bonus stage.
  4. Standard one on one match.
  5. Three on one match (the opponent is a giant and the player is given two random allies to help them complete the match).
  6. Snag the Trophies bonus stage.
  7. Standard one on one match.
  8. Ten on one match (the player is alone against a team of ten lightweight fighters that are easy to KO).
  9. Race to the Finish bonus stage.
  10. Standard one on one match against a random metal character. This match always takes place on the Battlefield.
  11. Master Hand battle on the Final Destination. If you are playing on normal or higher, finished in 15 minutes or less, and reached this stage without continuing, Crazy Hand will come out to aid Master Hand when Master Hand is half health.
