Can somebody change the SiteNotice id, this got updated but nobody changed the id, so I can't see this >.> Smoreking(T) (c) 22:53, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Heh, thanks Miles.Smoreking(T) (c) 15:52, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
Weird Site notice
Umm... yeah, whats with it?--Shaun's Wiji Dodo talk 00:31, 1 April 2011 (EDT)
- Check the date. Mr. Anon (talk) 00:32, 1 April 2011 (EDT)
- Yay! I got fooled!--Shaun's Wiji Dodo talk 00:37, 1 April 2011 (EDT)
Correction
There are technically 3 proposals for an IRC ruleset. Mine, OT's, and Miles'. Mr. Anon (talk) 21:09, 16 July 2011 (EDT)
- Honestly, we don't need to link to all three as they are all on the same page. DoctorPain99 21:35, 16 July 2011 (EDT)
Interwiki
Are the underway changes to the interwiki links worth mentioning? Toast ltimatum 08:19, 24 January 2012 (EST)
Tone
I don't particularly like the tone of the message as it is right now, specifically the use of the word "right" - on a Wiki, everything that is thought to be a right is actually a privilege. And the "Once April begins" part of it implies that it will be done as an April Fools' joke. And on a side note, are we still going to keep the old icons (which, with some exceptions, I personally preferred)? RickTommy (talk) 03:00, 28 March 2012 (EDT)
- While not technically correct, I believe using the word "right" gets across the message that "You get the chance to do it yourself first, but if you don't do it, someone else will.". And I don't see how a deadline of the end of March implies something April Fools-related.
- Since the intent of the icon change was to stop using the old ones and only use the new ones, all the old icons would be hanging around not used by anyone. Images like that usually get deleted. One can always re-upload a few later as user images, once they're removed from all current pages. Toomai Glittershine The Trumpeteer 08:06, 28 March 2012 (EDT)
WiKirby
WiKirby is fixed now, right? In which case, it should be out of the sitenotice now. Toast ltimatum 19:27, 4 August 2013 (EDT)
- Ehhhhhhhhhhh it's fixed enough I guess maybe for now. Toomai Glittershine The Producer 20:18, 4 August 2013 (EDT)
Add a special mention of the debate going on about the video leaks
Or better yet, set up an entire forum for said debate, with an area set aside for traditional support/oppose, and another area for legitimate points brought up by both sides, along with any counter-arguments made against those points. I can see numerous folks just interpreting the new game policy however they want over the next couple of weeks until official confirmation, and it'd probably be better if edit wars were to be avoided throughout the next couple of weeks as we approach release date. SW:NOTABLE
Would it worth be mentioning in the site notice? It's not just the recent editor pages, there have been quite a few vanity pages recently, even ignoring the recently marked old ones. Nyargleblargle (Talk · Contribs) 15:50, 15 October 2015 (EDT)
- I think it could be worth mentioning, especially with the "Smasher:SmashWiki" type of article that has been spammed on RecentChanges recently. INoMed (Talk • Contribs) 15:54, 15 October 2015 (EDT)
Get rid of the happy holidays stuff.
It's been almost 2 weeks since Christmas. 98.157.202.185 22:38, 10 January 2016 (EST)
- I know Miles edited it, but it's still showing up. I think he forgot to change the id, so someone do that. 98.157.202.185 20:46, 11 January 2016 (EST)
- Bump of this. I guess people still want this to say," Happy Hoildays" in April. 98.157.202.185 08:49, 13 January 2016 (EST)
Totally forgot that I put that up. Nyargleblargle (Contribs) 09:02, 13 January 2016 (EST)
Red
Does it have to be in red? Poultry(talk) the Team Liquid 20:13, 22 April 2016 (EDT)
Notable player adding
Is it still a big issue? Otherwise maybe we don't need to have red text or remove it all together. Dots (talk) The Medic 22:37, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
- Well as people are still screwing it up, yes. Serpent King 23:05, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
- I think what he's trying to get at is that people are too ignorant to read a stupid message that's literally punching them in the face, but I do agree it shouldn't be removed. It's a high risk that if we remove it, we may get even more notable player adding to rollback. We must assume that it's at least helping somewhat, even if we have no way of proving it. Disaster Flare (talk) 23:10, 28 September 2016 (EDT)
The new usergroup thing
Since the proposal has passed, it should probably be removed from the notices. Everone123 (u / t / c) 21:10, 27 February 2019 (EST)
- Good catch, thanks – Emmett 16:19, 28 February 2019 (EST)
Mistake
It's correctly spelled "April Fools' Day" (with an apostrophe after the "s"). RickTommy 23:25, March 31, 2019 (EDT)
