Editing Japanese tournament pagesEdit

DIO played Ryu. Whether he won or lost is irrelevant. And I added Bayonetta to Komo's character list, since you feel it's necessary to include every character he played. For the future, please don't revert edits on Japanese tournament pages unless there was an obvious error or you have something useful to contribute.Piledrivaaa (talk) 07:14, 23 October 2016 (EDT)

"Whether he won or lost is irrelevant." Not true. It's an unwritten rule here on SmashWiki that only characters who contributed to a player's advancement in bracket (i.e. won games in a won set) should be accounted for. It makes sense, as it better represents a character's competitive viability and the player's ability to use that character. An obvious example of that is Kameme's Yoshi at EVO. AFAIK, japanese tournaments aren't an exception. Btw, hen did Komo use Bayo? (not doubting you, just curious) Dimo (talk) 10:04, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
He used Bayo vs. Maruki in pools. Some people were confused because Maruki played Cloud, so some people thought Komo was the Cloud. But he was the Bayo. I've been on this website for a while now, and I've never heard of this "rule"... There are lots of games played in Japan tournaments, between round robin pools and bracket. It's simply impossible to know every character played by a player throughout an entire tournament. I'm sure there are a lot of pages on here that aren't 100% accurate because of this. The only way it's possible is if you use google translate and tweet every player asking them who they played... which is tedious and unnecessary. Besides seeing them play the character on stream, it's very possible that they played them off stream as well. I've been watching both of these players for a long time now. Earth is known to switch between Corrin and Dark Pit in doubles. He does it often, sometimes even when his team wins Game 1. And DIO plays Ryu at least once at most of the tournaments he attends. So it's very possible that they played them off stream, but even if they didn't, it's necessary to include it. I don't feel like Yoshi should be missing from the EVO 2016, it's necessary to let people know that he played Yoshi in the tournament whether he won or not. But I'm not going to change that. However, I will continue to change the edits on the Japan tournament pages. Judging by a lot of your edits, you seem to want your hand in everything on the website. Which is fine, I guess, but I'm just letting you know, I've been making the Japanese tournament pages on this website for months now. This is my thing. So please don't mess with it, unless, like I said earlier, you have something useful to contribute to the page. And for the record, I know some of what I said may sound condescending, but it's not intended to be that way. Piledrivaaa (talk) 15:22, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
Piledrivaaa, I am going to point out that you do not have the right to tell someone not to revert edits. And Dimo is right, we usually do only list characters that the players won with. And pools doesn't count. Serpent   King 15:26, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
I do if the edits are unwarranted. It seems like there are no official rules, and you guys are just making this up as you go along. Because Dino felt it was necessary to include Marth for Komo, but he only won with Marth in pools. Yet you're saying pools "doesn't count"... So I guess everybody has their own rules. The section says "Character(s)"... Why wouldn't it be necessary to include every character played by the player? That doesn't make any sense. It doesn't say "Character(s) that the player won with, but not in pools"... Unless I'm blind. Nairo took a game from ZeRo at Abadango Saga with Lucina, yet Lucina isn't listed in his character list for that page. There are a bunch of inconsistencies and inaccuracies on this website if that's actually a "rule"... But it's not. So allow me to put the accurate information on the website, and stop reverting it back to being inaccurate. Piledrivaaa (talk) 15:44, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
Look dude, you are over the line. Please don't edit war us, these are unwritten rules that we have followed for years. If you have a problem with it, I suggest you appeal it on a talk page. Serpent   King 15:51, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
About you being condescending : no big deal man. I love competitive Smash no matter what game or what country. I agree with you that this wiki is sometimes lacking in accuracy, with wrong results or results left unreported but that's why I make a lot of edits to try and correct that. If see someone make a edit that's wrong in my eyes I'm gonna call them out on that, and in turn I hope i'm gonna get called out if I mess up. It's just my opinion but if you're adding a character then the burden of proof is on you to show how that character allowed them to advance in bracket, be it a tweet or a video. It may be tedious but that's the price of accuracy I guess. About Nairo's Lucina : he didn't win vs ZeRo, so any character he may have used at that time, even if he took games with them don't count. I didn't know about pools not counting (I thought it only applied if a player was sandbagging) but if anything that's my fault and you should trust Serpent King on that. Well hope everything's been cleared up now. Have a good day/night! Dimo (talk) 15:55, 23 October 2016 (EDT)
If they played the character, they played the character. This is so bizarre to me. Nothing's been cleared up. Basically, your opinion > my opinion to the ignorant "authority" figures that "oversee" this website. And for the record, if you want to continue on with the trend of having inaccurate information on the website, Fuwa didn't WIN with Marth ON STREAM. She used Marth in 2 of the 3 sets that were on stream, but her team happened to lose every game she played Marth in. So I guess you gotta get rid of Marth too now, because the very likely possibility of her using Marth off stream and winning is irrelevant to you. Regardless, I hope you have a good day/night as well. Piledrivaaa (talk) 16:23, 23 October 2016 (EDT)

VandalismEdit

Hi.

I don't know if this was intentional or not. But you made an edit onto http://www.ssbwiki.com/Smasher:ESAM and made an edit which put the trivia page onto his smash wii u tournament placings.

Please try to avoid doing this by finishing off textboxes with |- and |}.

The edits you have made have been repaired and the page is how it should be.

If you have any questions. Go to my talk page and I can try to help you. --X The Smasher (talk) 01:43, 16 January 2017 (EST)X The Smasher

It wasn't vandalism lol, I just deleted the " |} " by accident. I add tons of results so it's bound to happen sometimes. Dimo (talk) 05:44, 16 January 2017 (EST)
