Instant Transmission
User Goku
Universe Dragon Ball

Instant Transmission (瞬間移動, Instantaneous Movement) is Goku's up special move.

OverviewEdit

Goku first starts by putting his hand to his head, before disappearing completely. He then reappears shortly after, covering a distance of around half the length of Final Destination, unleashing a powerful kick to knock the opponent away. The player can influence Goku's direction, and he can go in all eight directions; holding the button also increases the distance he travels, at the cost of no kicking attack. After he reappears, he is left helpless.

CustomizationEdit

Special Move customization was added in Super Smash Bros. 4. These are the variations:

  1. Instant Transmission: Default.

Like the other DLC characters, Goku lacks custom move variations.

OriginEdit

Instant Transmission allows Goku and anyone that is in physical contact with him to instantly travel great distances (from meters to light-years, between the living world and Other World, or even travel outside time itself) just by concentrating on a particular individual's ki signature, and transmitting or feeling that being's location. It was taught by the Yardrats to Goku during his time on their planet. Because Instant Transmission requires a ki signature to lock onto, the successful performance of the technique is dependent on one's ability to detect them. For example, during the Kid Buu Saga, Goku proclaimed to Dende that he could not travel to New Namek because their ki signatures were too far away. Super Smash Bros. 4 seems to neglect this rule, as Goku can reappear in a spot on the stage regardless of whether or not a character is nearby.
