Don't Ever Hit Down was a Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament held in Fonsorbes, a city in France near Toulouse, on September 10th-11th, 2005.

FormatEdit

The tournament began with a best of 3 Swiss Rounds phase, with Top 16 advancing to the best of 5 double-elimination bracket. Finals were best of 7. Sets were played with 4 stocks, no items and a 10-minute timer. Wobbling was banned, whereas stalling using Peach Bomber and Jigglypuff's Rising Pound was "limited."

StagelistEdit

The starter stage was selected at random between the following stages: Final Destination, Yoshi's Story, Dream Land, Pokémon Stadium, Fountain of Dreams.

Dave's Stupid Rule was in application during the counterpick process. While all stages were technically legal as counterpicks, the opponent could refuse a counterpick and force the player to pick another stage if their counterpick was one of the following: Hyrule Temple, Fourside, Great Bay, Yoshi's Island, Flat Zone, Icicle Mountain, Big Blue, Brinstar Depths.

In addition, each player could ban one stage from the entire stage list before starting the set. That stage would remain banned for the remainder of the set.
