Fixed: Bad linksEdit
From the report here http://www.niwanetwork.org/forums/index.php?topic=279.msg9252#msg9252 navbox had bad links. Looks like something was screwy with some of the code in here. There was a part of the markup that looks like it's made so that using :Foo in the name= for navbox will make it link to Foo instead of Template:Foo, it looks like it wasn't working the way it was intended and always linking to Foo when it's supposed to link to Template:Foo. However, a short bit after that bit of code Template talk: was used in a way that didn't take that into account so the :Foo feature was pretty much moot anyways since you'd end up with links to Foo and Template talk:Foo meaning that feature was never done anyways. RedoEdit
As-is, this thing is too heavy-duty for our purposes. All we use for anything is the "v, d, e" display of links, but the code is somewhat optimized for a whole ton of alternate options. So I'll be cutting the crap and shrinking it down, hopefully fixing a problem or two in the process.
However, before I do so, I'd like an opinion: is "v, d, e" as a default okay, or should the default be "view, discuss, edit"? And what about "talk" versus "discuss"? Toomai Glittershine The Free 18:25, 19 February 2014 (EST)
- I think it's pretty obvious what "v, d, e" means, but I would not be opposed to spelling them out if someone feels otherwise. But if it is spelled out, then the shorter "talk" should be used. James Heart 18:32, 19 February 2014 (EST)
Bump. Would like to do this soonish. Toomai Glittershine The Prismatic 18:34, 3 March 2014 (EST)
fullurl "template"Edit
Putting <includeonly> tags around both of the uses of {{fullurl}} should prevent this template from trying to make "Fullurl:Template:" and "Fullurl:Template talk:". Putting the entire thing between <includeonly> tags also works. This will remove them from the WantedTemplates list and it will finally be clear. Since this is used on... pretty much every page, I didn't save and instead wanted the admins to be aware of a fix before I potentially made a huge mess. --CanvasK (talk) 22:58, April 10, 2021 (EDT)
