Pokemon characters

If pokemon trainer, Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard are counted as separate playable characters the pokemon series has more playable characters than all other series

Wario KOed by Pitfall

If Wario is on his bike and rides over a pitfall item someone planted, he'll fall off his bike and be sent flying. Your welcome to try it out. Ocolith

Giga Bowser < Super-Bowser

In Brawl, Giga Bowser is weaker in damage giving than a Bowser, who has used a Super-Mushroom. ZidaneTribal {{(talk) 08:17, 17 July 2008 (UTC)}}

What do you mean by weaker? In terms of damage or knockback? Or both? --Posted by Pikamander2 (Talk) at 12:14, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Mr. Game and watch Jump

In brawl, When Mr.game and watch uses 'Fire' in midair, if another player is very close or jumps very close to it, it will also send them up. User:MetaKnighter

That's pretty well known.

Ray guns

In Melee, everyone blinks when they fire the ray gun. Except for Mewtwo's, who's eyes just turn green. Oninova (talk) 06:42, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Time for a clean up

As Brawl is finally out, should all the tips now relate to Brawl rather than melee ?? Maybe the Melee ones can be backed up on this page ?? 2L84U 08:30, February 19, 2008 (EST)

reorganization

Changed "Jigglypuff can recover both higher and farther", removing the reference to vertical distance. Ice Climbers actually have the best vertical recovery (see http://hometown.aol.com/oovideogamegodoo/myhomepage/profile.html, section "Total Jumping Height"). --nealdt 07:33, March 3, 2007 (GMT)

Total jumping height includes the first jump though, of which Jiggly's is the one of the lowest. And I have a countersource: Magus 420's AR-assisted recovery graph. Though my fun fact has outlived its usefulness, there are just too many now! MaskedMarth (t c) 04:58, March 7, 2007 (GMT)

April Fools Day

Would it be alright if I added a little joke to the DYK and included a link to a page that said "APRIL FOOLS!"? Just for the day, of course. Since AFD is very soon, I'll wait for about half an hour, and if there aren't any objections, I'll add it. WaluigiIsAwesome 09:03, April 1, 2007 (GMT)

Nobody seems to object, so I added in a fact that said Mario is no longer in SSBB, with a link to my userpage, which is customized to say "ARPIL FOOLS!!! Hah! You fell for it, didn' you?" WaluigiIsAwesome 09:27, April 1, 2007 (GMT)

why are there so many?

seriously, we don't need 50 entries under this thing. we should figure out a way to cycle through (listing 10 at a time) or we should only keep the notable ones. some of the stuff up there are WGASA material. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 23:46, October 30, 2007 (EDT)

Facticity check

Was SSB really supposed to be on the SNES? I've never heard that before.

Sonic the Hedgehog in Melee

I'm sorry, I've never heard of that. AFAIK, Sonic the Hedgehog was never considered for Smash until 2 years ago.

It was a big EGM April Fool's Joke, look it up. Also sign your posts. Gargomon251 22:16, February 24, 2008 (EST)
My mistake, I wasn't sure what you were saying. Well I don't know for sure, I think he was plausibly CONSIDERED....Gargomon251 22:18, February 24, 2008 (EST)

Verification

So how do we tell if these facts are real or not? Should we have sources on a talk page or something? FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 06:56, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Who's the wise guy?!

I recently added that Mr. Game & Watch becomes partially 3D when he picks up a Metal Box, but someone removed it! WHO EVER DID NEEDS TO CHECK THAT ABSOLUTELY CORRECT FACT! SO WHOEVER REMOVED MY INFO CAN CHECK FOR THEMSELVES AND FEEL LIKE A COMPLETE MORON FOR DOING SUCH A THING WHEN I'M THE ONE WHO DISCOVERED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!--King Dedede Kirby 17:52, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Ever since the edit button was added to this template on the main page, there have been a lot of edits, not all of which are great. Also, didn't this thing once have an archive? --Posted by Pikamander2 (Talk) at 20:43, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

About the add facts link

Why make it hard coded URL? I think it should stay a internal wiki link, because, as much as I don't like it, this template, and everything else, also shows up at [[w:c:ssb-gamespot]], for example: [[w:c:ssb-gamespot:Template:Did you know]]. Logan - (Talk·Contributions) 17:36, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Kirby's Cook

Did you know that Kirby's final smash: Cook can eat Ness's PK thunder? Haven't verified if the same applies for Lucas. --TheRiot (talk) 19:36, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

That seems cool.--Kingzant (talk) 15:52, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah it does, really annoying when Lucas/Ness is trying to get away by going off the stage but is unable to recover since the PK thunder was taken away. (talk) 19:11, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Ice Climber Selection

Did you know that the colors of the Ice Climber's parkas are reversed (ex: girl IC wearing the guy's colors) in the character selection screen, but when in a match, the colors switch places from the character selection screen? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.229.192.59 (talkcontribs) 23:52, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Survive Dragoon

If used at the proper time, Ike's Aether can survive a Dragoon hit. The sound will play as if you will have been hit, but afterwords you just continue the move. Glad to be of help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LastShadow (talkcontribs) 00:39, 26 May 2008 (UTC) Ike's Aether has Superarmor frames, where he takes damage, but no Knockback. Aerial attacks do the same thing as a jump

After using your 3rd jump as Jigglypuff keep doing your up-aerial to rise as far as your jumps would take you. Meta Knight works the same way. Yoshi's works if you do your up-aerial in the middle of your 2nd jump.Star105XL (talk) 22:28, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Pure myth!? It worked perfectly for me! In fact, I might have been the guy who first discovered it! I was the person to post it in Bowser's trivia section, and before I did it I had never heard of it before. Make no mistake- it works all right. Maybe they fixed it or something, but I can do it easily.Maxiscool (talk) 13:41, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Kirby's Level

When Kirby's level is up in the air you can jump through the the buttom of the stage, great for getting around edge guarders/hogs, or just doing a suprise attack. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr. Bond (talkcontribs) 03:34, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Which kirby level? Which game? Care to explain yourself? - Gargomon251 (talk) 04:34, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
I believe it is Halberd, since I got owned by Falco's landmaster off the top of that level. My friend fell off the edge, so I thought I was safe, then he flew threw the bottom of the level and star KO'd me... I was pissed. Dexington (talk) 04:04, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
First of all, when i did that, it never happened. I was against Wolf and he used his landmaster, when i fell through the stage i lost.... :(. Second of all, saying that stuff above is NOT needed for SmashWiki...what if there are kids on this site and they start saying that! That's giving them a bad message! Third of all, stop making up stories! People will think it's true and when they try it out, it will be false. Now stop doing all that stuff! Starting Zero Suit Samus

I know most people know this already, but for those that don't: to start as Zero Suit Samus, hold down the original shield button for your controller configuration and keep holding until you pick a stage. Keep holding, and you start out as Zero Suit Samus.

The point of this article is THINGS THAT ARE NOT WELL KNOWN. This trick has been stated MANY, MANY TIMES. - Gargomon251 (talk) 04:03, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Temple Spin Dash Suicide

When you use Sonic in the Temple stage, go to the part of the stage with the stairs. Use Sonic's side special (spin dash) on the part of the stairs where there is a break between the two stairs. If done correctly, Sonic will spin dash off of the screen! Note: You must be facing the RIGHT side of the screen, NOT the left.

HELLO!!!Spin Glitch!!! - Gargomon251 (talk) 01:42, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Least Appearances

Should we add that Lucas, Ice Climbers, and Sheik have made the least appearances in brawl? Gargomon please don't flame me. ItemHazard (talk) 21:09, 20 June 2008 (UTC) ItemHazard

That's noticable, but not the most interesting fact, and I don't think it's worth posting. Of course, that's my opinion. And haha - yes. Gargoman could learn some more common courtesy. Flaming makes you seem like a jerk. You do it well.

Sorry, but I really get infuriated by so many people posting things here that have been known by many people for over a year, especially when these things are acknowledged within the game itself. And SOMEONE has to keep this article straight. As far as least appearances goes, it's reasonable, but I'm not sure how notable it is... when I first started watching this template, I was trying to restrict trivia to things both notable and hopefully useful, not something like the number of stitches on mario's hat or some combo that only works in Training mode.- Gargomon251 (talk) 01:01, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
No probs Gargomon. Although I was just trying to add a new fact since we haven't had one in days. Heck, that King DeDeDe with the hammers IMO is kind of useless trivia. ItemHazard (talk) 17:13, 21 June 2008 (UTC) ItemHazard

Final Smash Moves

Here's some random stuff about final Smashes: Marth-if in air u can shoot yourself off the screen ROB-you can still do all your regular moves while it is going, including taunts Pit-can easily be dodged with a simple roll (over shield) Gannondorf-anyone in front of it will be driven into the ground so that they can't move Jigglypuff-gets bigger with every use Wolf/Fox-wolf's is essentially the same as fox's but is faster, more manuverable, flies better, and doesn't stay out for as long Link/Toon Link-link's travels twice the distance of toon link's (link's is all the way across final destination) Snake-12 shots are used but if you wait to long the helicopter will land due to running out of gas Bowser-can still be hurt while giga bowser Ness/Lucas-ness's goes diagonally while lucas's goes straight down Ike-sword can go through walls and barriers

Some of these are more obvious than others but I hope I wrote at least some interesting things! Feel free to add more!

Special Brawl : Metal

Well, I was on Special brawl, and turned on Metal And whenever I used a character who talked, then didn't. For example, I used Ike. And then used his Up Special, where he would yell "Yah!" or "Aether" or such, but instead - all I hear is the whoosh from his sword.

I'm not sure if this is only part of the Special Brawl, or plainly just from being Metal. Someone can confirm and such :] Daangdang (talk) 04:29, 12 July 2008 (UTC)

Squirtle

Idk if this is painfully obvious yet as im new, but DYK Squirtle, though being a water type pokemon, can still drown?Key-pez (talk) 01:33, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

And Charizard can be hurt by fire attacks and Pikachu can be hurt by electric attacks and Ike can be hurt by Peach bomber? (Actually, I like Ike, but I couldn't resist saying that.) But on a more serious note, Squitle can be hurt by water attacks in the Pokemon games, I'm not sure if he can drown in the anime or not, but everyone knows he can drown. Maxiscool (talk) 02:20, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

ok well i play the games so charizard and pikachu getting hurt by fire and electric attacks, respectively, makes sense. they dont really show anything drowning in the water in the anime so i just assumed. but ok i just dont spend much time in the water with anyone, so yeah. ok thnx.Key-pez (talk) 05:04, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

It seems like that but in reality you are just either doing a midair jump and a aerial at the same time, or you change the way the character is positioned with your aerial but in reality it seems like a boost but they are still in the same place but different animation.(some exceptions though) - Hatake91 (talk) 21:43, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

very confusing

I just wanted to say that I find the current set up regarding the "did you know" section to be very confusing. There are several different pages, with confusing or contradictory directions on the editing process. I am very unclear on what to do if I have an idea; whether I must enter it here, discuss it, or on the template page, or whether I can simply add it to the main page via the link there, or perhaps something else. I would really appriciate some clarification on this matter. Zixor (talk) 03:13, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
