AS Monaco Esports (ASM) is an esports team based in the Principality of Monaco. They are the esports branch of the association football team AS Monaco FC, eight times winner of the Ligue 1 (the top division of the French football league system) and runner-up of the 2004 edition of the UEFA Champions League, the most prestigious club competition in European football. Their esports branch opened in 2017. In addition to their FIFA and eFootball sections, AS Monaco previously had a traditional FGC and a Rocket League roster. AS Monaco is also partnering since 2021 with the famous Russian team Gambit Esports, having a common team and name for their Dota 2 and Fortnite rosters.
On February 15th, 2019, AS Monaco Esports announced their SSBU roster with the signing of Enki, VinS and Yass[1]. They were the first team from traditional sport sponsoring SSBU players. On July 29th, 2019, Enki and AS Monaco parted ways. Two weeks later, Yass announced his free agency[2]. Almost a year later, on July 10th, 2020, VinS and AS Monaco Esports parted ways[3]. With the departure of VinS, AS Monaco Esports' SSBU section is assumed to be disbanded.
