This might be kind of a stretch, but do you think each bonus could have its own article? They might be kind of small, but then again, so are the Pokémon articles. Plus, we could include tips on how to get them (or how to avoid them for penalties). WaluigiIsAwesome 03:47, April 15, 2007 (GMT)
- Honestly, it seems there'll be more than ample coverage of the bonuses just by having them on pages like this, and then mentioning info about bonuses in other gameplay articles wherever relevant, such as mentioning in Crazy Hand that defeating Crazy Hand gets the Crazy Hand KO bonus, Celebi appearing awards you the Celebi Catcher bonus, collecting multiple Heart Containers will get the Heartthrob bonus, etc. I think there should be List of Bonuses in Super Smash Bros., List of Bonuses in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and List of Bonuses in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as separate list pages where they can be detailed and therefore be very useful. I can only imagine some hard-to-find bonuses like All Variations being the subject of their own article if they can't be covered here or elsewhere. BTW, I'm pretty sure the Pokemon articles can all be majorly expanded. Erik the Appreciator 18:31, April 15, 2007 (GMT)
- Shouldn't it be "List of bonuses" rather than "List of Bonuses"? – Smiddle ( Talk • Conts ) 19:20, April 15, 2007 (GMT)
- Yeah, they probably should. Erik the Appreciator 19:30, April 15, 2007 (GMT)
- Shouldn't it be "List of bonuses" rather than "List of Bonuses"? – Smiddle ( Talk • Conts ) 19:20, April 15, 2007 (GMT)
List is incomplete. I have the strategy guide for melee. I will work on this. Okay? User:Zmario 3:55, 8 March 2008.
- There's somewhere around 200 Melee bonuses, just FYI. And whomever edits this article should really try to use the original Melee notations whenever possible. I've noticed a few that were reworded poorly.
- I used http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Super_Smash_Bros._Melee/Bonuses if that helps anyone. - Gargomon251 21:08, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, that'd... Kind of be me, the one who edited them. In the page's comments I wrote that I was using the SSBM Detstar page. That was before I had Melee myself, and before I knew that the bonuses had their own text. Sorry!... ^^' {EspyoT} 16:24, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
TitleEdit
Should this article instead be called Bonus Records? This is what Melee calls it, as I've recently checked. BNK [E|T|C] 03:09, July 14, 2010 (UTC)
OrganizationEdit
The Melee part of the article is alphabetized, but I am wondering if ordering the bonuses by the way the game shows it is better. Those who are playing can see what they have missed without scrolling through the whole thing. Green Mario (talk) 23:25, 2 December 2010 (EST)
Group Brawl "bonuses"Edit
Why are only the Brawl ones there? Those aren't really bonuses, but rather statistics. The same statistics are gathered after a match in Melee too (and possibly in SSB), so for the sake of consistency, that should either be removed or added for the other game(s). Smiddle 君怒る? 02:52, 4 September 2011 (EDT)
I've always wondered...Edit
In the original Smash Bros, what happens if you get more bonuses in one stage than can fit in the box? I ask because I've never gotten more than 8 or 9 bonuses in one stage, nor have I seen any pictures of someone having done so. Do you scroll through them like in Melee, or do they go outside of the box? RickTommy (talk) 21:13, 27 September 2011 (EDT)
Image of these bonuses???Edit
Why is the image needed tag on this? You can't really have images for this. ScoreCounter (talk) 13:01, 19 August 2012 (EDT)
Thanking you. ScoreCounter (talk) 13:12, 19 August 2012 (EDT)
ListingEdit
In Melee's list, would it be a good idea to list it by alphabet or by the way the game organizes it? Yeah, I asked that question a long time ago and nobody answered it so far. :P Green Mario 23:42, 27 October 2012 (EDT)
- It isn't clear what organization of bonus this page uses, so the chart can be listed as you prefer by clicking one of the boxes on the top row. ShupaRoeh 00:26, 28 October 2012 (EDT)
- It will remain alphabetical; it's much easier to find what you're looking for than it would be under the arbitrary organisation of Melee's. Omega Tyrant 09:05, 28 October 2012 (EDT)
Damage bonus in SSBBEdit
"the total damage the player deals is multiplied by 100." Is it accounted for that damage in Brawl is a real number? - Ceci n’est pas un Smiddle. 11:47, 9 July 2013 (EDT)
- When I say real number, I mean "not necessarily an integer" by the way. - Ceci n’est pas un Smiddle. 03:41, 18 April 2014 (EDT)
- The post-multiplied number always ends in 00, so it probably takes just the integer part. Toomai Glittershine Le Grand Fromage 10:32, 18 April 2014 (EDT)
Lucky number sevenEdit
Is :07 on the seconds slot or hundredths slot?
And does it not work on every stage? I finished with :07 in the seconds on the first Adventure Mode, but I didn't get the bonus. - Ceci n’est pas un Smiddle. 03:40, 18 April 2014 (EDT)
- It's not like the Luigi unlock method where it can be any time with the digit there, it's literally "seven seconds left". As in, 00:07.xx (or 00:06.xx depending how it rounds). Toomai Glittershine Le Grand Fromage 10:32, 18 April 2014 (EDT)
- Ah, fair enough. - Ceci n’est pas un Smiddle. 10:54, 18 April 2014 (EDT)
CollectorEdit
For this bonus in Melee, you only have to snag all three trophies in the 2nd Bonus Stage, Snag the Trophies. The single trophy in Race to the finish doesn't have to be collected for this bonus to be achieved. After some frustration trying to get all three falling trophies in there with Jigglypuff I managed it. Maybe a few more details about this bonus should be worth mentioning? Specifically the 3 falling trophies? LorenzoTheComic (talk) 03:26, 31 January 2015 (EST)
IdeaEdit
I don't have either game myself, but could someone find the maximum number of points and/or bonuses attainable in one run-through? I think it would be a cool little piece of trivia... AmoongussForLife (talk) 11:44, 22 July 2015 (EDT)
- I'm pretty sure 1P Game has the max amount of points at ten million. Nyargleblargle (Talk) 11:48, 22 July 2015 (EDT)
Not in SSB4Edit
I can't believe this doesn't exist on SSB4. It makes sense however. You earn Global Smash Power when you fight, so bonuses would give you obscenely high GSP. Radfox35 20:36, 17 November 2015 (EST)
- This is not appropriate talk page usage; see SW:TALK#Musings. Please use the Forum for this kind of discussions. Thanks. -Menshay (talk) 05:41, 18 November 2015 (EST)
Better descriptions?Edit
Some of these descriptions are not very informative (for example, Ambler is described as being obtained when the player "walked a lot"). Is this going to be clarified? 180.200.139.191 00:19, 7 December 2016 (EST)
- A while ago, I went through all the bonuses and clarified them as much as possible. Any remaining unclear descriptions are because we don't know anything more specific. Toomai Glittershine The Bold 06:53, 7 December 2016 (EST)
