Netherlands
The Netherlands is a country located on the northwestern side of Europe. The country is comprised of twelve provinces, the largest of which is South Holland. It borders Belgium to the south and Germany to the east, and is within relatively close proximity to the United Kingdom and Ireland to the west across the North Sea.
Historically, the Netherlands has been one of the strongest Smash regions in Europe, being the home of Amsah, the best European Melee player up until the Era of the Five Gods, and Mr.R, the best European Brawl and Smash 4 player of all time. Today, the country is still the home of many players who are ranked nationally and globally for all Smash games, and it is considered one of the strongest European Smash regions for Smash 4 and Ultimate.
The Netherlands is also the home of several notable tournament series, including Dutch Tournament, Avalon, The Ultimate Performance, and Syndicate, the latter of which is the largest tournament series in the country and has attracted players from all around the world.
