Peach's Peril is the 19th event match of the 51 event matches in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

The player controls Mario and must survive for one minute against a larger-than-normal CPU Bowser on the Final Destination stage. Mario is joined by a CPU Peach ally. The CPU Bowser's artificial intelligence is set at Level 7, while the CPU Peach ally's artificial intelligence is set at Level 1.

When the match starts, Mario will spawn on the left side of the stage, while Bowser spawns on the center of the stage, and Peach spawns on the right side of the stage. Mario and Peach will each start with 1 stock while Bowser starts with infinite stocks. Peach will walk back and forth on the stage and does not attack at all, aside from using Peach Parasol to recover if knocked off the stage. Mario must protect Peach from being KO'd by Bowser, who directs his attacks towards her. If Mario or Peach is KO'd, it will result in a loss. If Mario prevents Bowser from KO'ing Peach in 1 minute, it will result in a victory. High scores are measured by the number of times Mario KOs Bowser.

TriviaEdit

  • This event match is a reference to the mainstream entries of the Mario series (e.g. Super Mario Bros.) where Mario has to rescue Princess Peach after she is kidnapped by Bowser. Fittingly, the music track that plays during this event match is an arrangement of the music tracks featured in Super Mario Bros., despite the fact the event match takes place on the Final Destination stage.
    • However, it is possible that the event match is a reference to the final boss battle against Bowser in Super Mario 64 where Mario battles Bowser on a circular platform in the sky, which will allow Mario to rescue Princess Peach. Fittingly, the music track that plays in this event match is the musical theme of the Princess Peach's Castle stage, which is based on Peach's Castle, which serves as the main setting of Super Mario 64,.
