Hold it
Please remember to insert a space after using a comma (,) or a period (.). I have to change or revert ALL of your recent edits. Also, please remember to use the preview button when making a lot of edits to one page or section. Thanks! Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. - I recommend you read our manual of style. While you appear to have listened to me, you're still making some mistakes. Please have a careful read of the MoS before continuing. Your efforts are appreciated. Thank you. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the Internets go! :3 22:08, 24 July 2017 (EDT)

Please read the messages above and also be aware that we don't call a meteor smash a spike, as a spike is something else entirely. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the Internets go! :3 00:50, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
Hi there! You should read SW:MOS and Help:Editing before going any further, and it might not be a bad idea to read through some of our other policies too. Thanks! Serpent King 01:42, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
I'm heavily aware of the difference between a spike and a meteor, even in Smash 4. The ones that send the opponent at a slight angle are known as spikes if they cannot be meteor canceled. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sm4shmeister (talk • contribs) 13:58, 25 July 2017 (EST)
- You still aren't signing properly. Please refer to SW:SIG for a proper explanation on that. Disaster Flare (talk) 10:20, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
I think I get it. Let me see if it works.Sm4shmeister (talk) 10:23, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
Yep, it does. Thanks.Sm4shmeister (talk) 10:25, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
- Unsigned comments need to stay unsigned because they were never signed to begin with. Otherwise, the accurate times on said comments get screwed up and it can cause problems. Disaster Flare (talk) 10:29, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
Okay.Sm4shmeister (talk) 10:30, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
A more friendly welcome
Just like to give you a slightly more friendly welcome, since no one actually put in the welcome template. Hi! I can see that you are very eager to edit, which is great because as with most wikis, SmashWiki is not complete. I have seem that after a slightly shaky start you have actually made some constructive edits to the wiki, and I want to say keep up the good work!
Also, here's a couple of tips: You can see a list of recent changes on the recent changes page which can be accessed by clicking "Recent changes" on the side bar under "Participate" or by typing Special:Recentchanges into the search bar. Here you can also see edit summaries which can explain why someone has undone an edit of yours, so you know what the reason is.
If you ever have a problem, you can ask another user about it, especially an admin (the most active admins being Serpent King and Disaster Flare, but be sure to put your query at the bottom of the talk page, and use double equals signs like so: ==Title== for the title of your query.
Again, welcome to the SmashWiki, and keep up the good work! Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 10:39, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
One last thing...
I know this has been shown before, but it's imperative that the show preview button be used. Otherwise, well, you can see for yourself on the recent changes. Beyond that, yeah, welcome to the wiki, and I'll let you know if there's anything else. Disaster Flare (talk) 11:15, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
- Again, please use the show preview button when editing articles. If you're planning on editing different sections, just click "edit this page" at the top of the screen and find the spots you want to edit. Disaster Flare (talk) 12:51, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
But...I am using the Show preview button.Sm4shmeister (talk) 12:52, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
- That may be true, but you're still making multiple consecutive edits on an article in the span of minutes, which is frowned upon on wikis. Show preview is meant to combat that. Disaster Flare (talk) 12:55, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
Oh, OK.Sm4shmeister (talk) 12:56, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
Red links
We generally keep red links on articles, as it shows that we actually need the article in the future. A red link would increase the odds of us getting the article that much sooner, so please only remove a red link if you're certain we absolutely do not need it. Disaster Flare (talk) 14:24, 25 July 2017 (EDT)
How to compress multiple edits into one using "show preview"
So by the looks of it what you are doing when editing is clicking on the edit button above sections of articles, then editing that section and saving. This is great for when you want to focus on a specific section, and don't plan on changing any other sections. However if you plan on editing more than one section on the same page, this method forces you to make multiple separate edits to that page, which clogs up recent changes. This is where those little tabs at the top of the page come in. One of those tabs says "edit", and this brings up the editor for the entire page, allowing you to change multiple sections in one go. So here's the best method for making larger edits to pages:
- Click "edit" at the top of the page.
- Scroll down until you find the first section you wish to edit, and make said edit.
- Click "show preview" to see what the page will look like to viewers, and be sure you are satisfied.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page where you will find the editor, in the same position as you left it, then repeat.
- Once you have edited every section you wish to make changes to on that page, and checked that everything is as it should be, then save the page.
I hope this helps. Alex Parpotta the flying lobster! 12:46, 26 July 2017 (EDT)
I do wanna point out this will be your last warning. Please, please heed this, or you'll have to be temporarily blocked from editing the wiki. Disaster Flare (talk) 12:48, 26 July 2017 (EDT)
