Flat Zone is unlocked when the player unlocks Mr. Game & Watch. Flatzone is also Mr. Game & Watch's home stage, and you face 25 of his characters at the end of All-Star mode on this stage.
Stage layout
Flat Zone is a small stage. In the middle of the stage there are numerous lines that characters can jump on. The lines will fade out and reappear while the characters battle. On the far right of the screen, characters can stand on the roof of the house. Characters will appears as 2-D images on the screen, and make a beeping noise whenever they walk. When the game is paused, rather than zoom in on one character, the camera zooms out to show the entire Game and Watch device being played on.
Obstacles
- Once in a while a guy from the house will come and dump oil on the ground. If a character walks in the oil, they will have a hard time battling. Only the Ice Climbers have good traction on the oil.
- Once in a while tools will fall down from the top of the screen. If a character comes in contact with a tool, they will take some damage, sometimes killing the character even at low percentages.
Tournament legality
Flat Zone is banned in both single and double tournaments due to the fact that weaker characters can get killed easily in this stage.
