Pac-Man (パックマン, Pakkuman Puck Man), occasionally stylized as PAC-MAN, is the main character in the Pac-Man series.
Character description
Pac-Man debuted in the arcade game, Pac-Man, in 1980. He initially began with few personality traits, reflecting his simplistic appearance in the games, but later installments in the series such as Pac-Land and Pac-Man World expand on the character and his backstory; in these games, he is shown to have a large family that he deeply cares about, and he is characterised as a relatively laid-back hero who is willing to help wherever he's needed.
In Super Smash Bros. 4

Trivia
- Pac-Man appeared in various media alongside other Super Smash Bros. playable characters prior to Super Smash Bros. 4:
- SSB4 is the fifth game with Mario and Pac-Man together. The first game they ever crossed was in the 2003 Gamecube release Pac-Man Vs. which was developed by Shigeru Miyamoto and starred Mario's voice as the announcer. Their second crossover and the first for them to both actually appear together was the 2005 arcade game Mario Kart Arcade GP, which was a crossover of Mario Kart and Pac-Man. The arcade game then got two sequels.
- SSB4 is the second fighting game to feature Mega Man and Pac-Man together, the first being the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of Street Fighter X Tekken.
- Pac-Man, Bowser, and Sonic appeared in the 2012 Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph. Mario was also mentioned in the movie, and was originally going to appear in person.
- Shigeru Miyamoto requested Pac-Man to be playable in Super Smash Bros. Brawl to Masahiro Sakurai but Sakurai, thinking of Pac-Man's pizza shape, thought it was far-fetched at the time.[1]
