Leffen is a professional Smasher from Stockholm, Sweden. He is known to be one of the best Smashers in Sweden, and even in the world, starting off as one of the best Yoshi players, then transitioning to his now-infamous Fox and Falco, which are known to be both highly technical. He has managed to place very well in tournaments; he took 17th at Apex 2013, then proceeded to take 9th place out of 696 entrants at EVO 2013 (currently the largest Melee tournament in the world), and 4th place at Apex 2014. At Apex 2014, Leffen defeated renowned smashers such as Hungrybox and Colbol before being eliminated by Mango in Losers' Semis.

Controversy

Despite being one of the strongest Smashers, Leffen's conduct during and outside of tournaments has been reported to be notoriously rude. Many people, especially new Smashers, have stated that Leffen deliberately sandbags in tournaments by playing low tier characters (such as Yoshi) against less experienced players, but still wins and makes fun of them for it. Leffen has also been known for spreading exaggerated rumors, making the targets in question seem incompetent. He has also made very rude and vocal comments on friendly discussions in Smashboards which decreased his popularity amongst the competitive Melee community. Leffen also created an upset during his doubles set against Scar and SFAT in Apex 2013; when Scar accidentally paused twice, Leffen forced him to throw the stock, causing outrage amongst the crowd. All of these negative portrayals of his character accumulated and sparked a huge outburst against him in the aforementioned tournament, where the American crowd violently chanted against Leffen during the USA v.s. The World crew battle.

On February 9th, 2013, after a lengthy online discussion about his poor behavior within the Melee community, Leffen was nationally banned from Swedish tournaments, and was later internationally banned in Finland. The collaborators put together a large list of unacceptable behaviors he was guilty of, including the aforementioned defamation and sandbagging, as proof for his ban, and stated that the only way Leffen's ban would be lifted was for him to create a lengthy apology stating everything he has done wrong in the past and how he will change the behavior in the future. On March 21st, 2013, shortly before BEAST 3 (the first major tournament he was banned from), he did indeed made a public statement asking for forgiveness.

On January 24th, 2014, it was announced by Armada that the Swedish ban on Leffen was no longer in place [1]. Leffen has not sparked any major controversies since then, but still remains vocal to some degree online.
