Use
Displays Japanese characters. For example, {{ja|スミッデル}} gives スミッデル. If a user has set his/her monobook.css to a font unable to display Japanese characters, such as Verdana, this template helps (if any Japanese font is installed). 1 should be the text, and 2 should be the hover text ("Katakana" or "Hiragana"), where "Japanese text is the default.
