Special Pictures
I think we should use more pictures of Special Moves from Smabura-Ken.com. They are pure and good screenshots, but i dont know how to upload images. Someone else mus take up the fight. Any volunteers? --Oxico 14:16, December 12, 2007 (EST)
Work to be done
Oo, this needs a bit of work. The total inaccuracy in describing Link and Young Link's Up B attacks is just the beginning.... -- Randall00 Talk 18:14, May 13, 2007 (GMT)
I think it should be noted that Gimpyfish uses "Up-B" as his screen name. =/ --Janitor 13:43, September 23, 2007 (EDT)
Up-B?
Because there are now other controlers besides the Gamecube controler (Wiimote, Classic, ect.,) and that you can also change the configuration of your button functions, I think its no longer appropriate to use the term up-b on an official Wiki such as this. - Orochijes 23:29, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
Pikachu
"Best recovery by far in Smash 64"
Koro, please stop adding this biased statement into the article. I know you mean good faith, and you are a professional, but this is an encyclopedia. Besides, Jiggly has an infinite recovery and DK has a much longer horizontal recovery. Even Ness' goes farther and does more damage. 98.111.95.78 06:14, May 2, 2010 (UTC)
- Now I haven't played the first SSB that much, but from what I read, Pikachu's recovery has always been considered the best recovery in the game. I don't know where you get Ness's recovery being better, but Pikachu is better by far in Melee and in Brawl. Also, Ness's recovery is often considered the second worst recovery in the original SSB. That is one reason why he took such a massive dive on the tier list. As for DK, Pikachu's is certainly better in SSBM and SSBB. I am sure it was better in SSB as well. As for Jigglypuff, her recovery is not infinite though it is better in SSBM and SSBB than Pikachu's. But from what I read about the original SSB, Jigglypuff's jumps gain significantly less height than the future games. Its last jump didn't gain any height at all. I know Koro is very knowledgeable about the first SSB and there is nothing wrong with putting a piece of information in an article that is widely agreed upon and is back up by favorable statistics. - In the first SSB, DK's Up special goes a VERY long horizontal distance. Ness' goes farther, but I didn't say it was easier. Jiggly's is infinite, see this. 98.111.95.78 01:12, May 3, 2010 (UTC)
- DK's recovery may be long horizontally, but gains very little vertical distance. Jigglypuff's may be infinite horizontally, but not vertically. Ness's may be far, but is too unreliable to be good. Pikachu's on other the hand, has no flaw at all. Pikachu's is a great recovery in any situation, it also has invincibility frames and is very difficult to edgeguard. With these factors in mind, that is why Pikachu's recovery was considered the best in the original SSB. With increase jumping power in Melee, Jigglypuff gained a much better vertical recovery and exceeded Pikachu's recovery but that was not the case in the original SSB.
