The Actual Talk PageEdit

About your deletion tag to the Min Min RedirectEdit

If you want to tag a page for speedy deletion here use the {{d|unnecessary redirect}}or {{speedy delete|Unnecessary redirect}} instead of using the {{delete}} tag. For speedy deletion I strongly suggest you put a reason for speedy deletion. Thank you. S3AHAWK (talk)  11:59, September 22, 2020 (EDT)

Thank you for the update. Trig - 12:00, September 22, 2020 (EDT)
I also forgot to mention this but for tagging redirects for deletion, I suggest putting the tag on the top of the page than the bottom, this way it breaks it. S3AHAWK (talk)  12:05, September 22, 2020 (EDT)
Okay, I will try to remember this. Usually as on other wikis, people prefer the redirect remains. Trig - 12:07, September 22, 2020 (EDT)

Quick thing about speedy delete for file pages. Put the tag before the redirect so that admins won't accidentally delete the wrong page. Cookies Creme 13:47, October 12, 2020 (EDT)

Might I just say...Edit

Nice work! Your contributions reflect the kind of awesome work we SmashWikidians like to see!
Nice job on tagging all those redirects! That's an effort of very large scale I rarely see on this wiki. You deserve this. Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Gamer (talk) 22:00, March 7, 2021 (EST)

Removing talk page postsEdit

Aye Trig, wanted to let you know that removing talk page isn't allowed. I'm not exactly sure if it still applies if the user doesn't wish to be messaged with congratulations, but since Awesomelink couldn't know about it, so I added it back. Have a nice day. Superbound (talk) 10:09, March 8, 2021 (EST)

backEdit

I'm prolly coming back to do some minor things here or there. If you think there may be a problem with that based off what you've been told I am more than open to discussion about it. Trig - 15:28, November 20, 2024 (EST)

Image changesEdit

We've been getting complaints about how you've been going around changing other peoples' user images (which there's no written rule against but is probably at least frowned upon) and editing old archive pages (which is very much against the rules without extenuating circumstances), both of which are flooding logs and categories with unnecessary cruft. Please stop doing so. Toomai Glittershine   The Producer 11:40, November 21, 2024 (EST)

Understood. The two images are visually identical, so they aren't changing the content in any particular way. Those are the only two single-frame GIFs I had found anyway, so I wouldn't even have more to do if I wanted to. Generally speaking if archives aren't meant to be edited, I'd think they'd just be outright page protected. In regards to your comment on Discord, I don't believe this to be a waste of time at all, as it helps begin a process of better organization. The rest of the speedy deletions are as was asked about—either main page deleted, unused images, duplicate images, unused+unnecessary redirects, or blank pages. Nothing should be overtly controversial. Trig - 11:44, November 21, 2024 (EST)
There seems to be some culture dissonance here. We tend to be pretty laissez-faire with things like protecting archives, uppercase file extensions, still images being unoptimised, and stuff like that. Historically, we've been able to trust the userbase enough that being lax with standards has not led to significant issues. So when someone unexpectedly applies more rigorous standards to multiple things in quick succession, eyebrows get raised. The primary reason for this message was to point out that archives shouldn't be edited without a very good reason; saying "probably don't replace user images" was just the catalyst for it (because doing so is likely to break archives).
